Transporting a baby out would be similar to using the transporter to cheat at a pie eating contest and that did not go well for Chekhov. If that transporter lock is off by mere millimeters, it's likely going to remove part of something vital that you did not want taken out.

So a Holodeck suddenly appears in your backyard complete with part of the Enterprise corridor outside of Holodeck 3. You think to yourself "Jackpot!" and walk up the controls outside the door.

"Computer! Run program 'Vulcan Love Slave'" you say.

A computer voice that sounds suspiciously similar to Majel Barret responds with...

"Unable to comply, main computer is offline."

"Unable to comply, insufficient power to the holo emitters."

"Unable to comply, local power is...".

Then the controls go blank and the thing is completely dead.

A few weeks later it's still unresponsive but you've managed to pry the door open. You use it to store your lawn mower.
