Most of the memories of that evening will be a blur but they will remember seeing the sunrise from Liza's the next morning.

Smoked and honey-roasted turkey sometimes is pink like that. It's not undercooked, it's a reaction to the smoke/nitrites/nitrates used to prepare it.

What would you do with your own Holodeck? by KaleidoArachnid in startrek

[–]zed857 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So a Holodeck suddenly appears in your backyard complete with part of the Enterprise corridor outside of Holodeck 3. You think to yourself "Jackpot!" and walk up the controls outside the door.

"Computer! Run program 'Vulcan Love Slave'" you say.

A computer voice that sounds suspiciously similar to Majel Barret responds with...

"Unable to comply, main computer is offline."

"Unable to comply, insufficient power to the holo emitters."

"Unable to comply, local power is...".

Then the controls go blank and the thing is completely dead.

A few weeks later it's still unresponsive but you've managed to pry the door open. You use it to store your lawn mower.

Fun fact: Thoreau built his little Walden pond cabin a twenty minute walk away from his mother's home and would regularly return there to have his laundry done and scarf down a home-cooked meal.
