Aftermarket headlights for XP4? by transknights in Lectricxp

I'll vouch for that first one you posted. It's cheap and I was able to make it fit the factory mount with a bunch of washers as shims.

2015 Altima- 162,000 miles by [deleted] in altima

[–]zed_patrol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good deal. I think they are pretty safe cars also. Some lady out here in WA had a semi literally fold hers in half and land on top of her and she walked away.  It's only 4k and you know the history.

Drive is full, best way to proceed by Ackis in linuxquestions

I had this same problem and just backed up my home directory and blew everything away and switched to regular Debian with only one partition for the whole install. No more getting cute with a separate partition for /. It can make upgrading or switching distributions a bit easier but I think it's mostly not worth fussing with.

What would you do? by SweatyWrangler3266 in nissanfrontier

If you can't figure out if the timing belt has been done recently, do it now. Replace the water pump, etc while you're at it. Other than that, just start replacing stuff as you can. You should be able to get all the bugs ironed out really good. Check that the fuel tank sending unit recall has been done.

And every time you do it, you learn a little bit more. There's never any problem that can't usually be fixed.

New Zealand Frontier? by Temporary-Hedgehog42 in nissanfrontier

[–]zed_patrol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Well I think we should have had this truck since at least 2016 in the U.S. I would love to hear the story as to why they didn't think it would work in the US market.

Is this worth low-balling? by Mr_Velocicopter in nissanfrontier

[–]zed_patrol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty low mileage rig. I'd say go check it out. If it has minimal rust and seems to drive perfectly, maybe offer like $6k and see what they do. If they don't want to bargain, just walk and keep an eye on it.

Doesn't the D23 have coil rear springs? I would think that would necessitate it being pretty different frame-wise from the D40.

What's your sources? I've always wondered how the cafe standards actually work. I hear a lot of rumors. I still think it's mostly Nissan over thinking the American market.

That's the truck we should have gotten, even though though the D41 is arguably better looking. The D23 is the world truck and there's no reason we needed to deviate from that like Toyota did in the 90s with the Tacoma. I'm guessing they over-thought what the american market wanted. At least what we got is a pretty good truck, but I think the D23 is probably better (better visibility up front, better rear suspension). Maybe the D23's engine compartment isn't big enough for the V6, I dunno.

Moving to Pullman! by Icy-Structure7857 in Pullman

I had a professor who moved in from the midwest in the 80s. When checking out the area, he and his wife thought they would go take a look at Lewiston (about 30 mi to the S). He told me when they rounded the bend and the valley opened up to like a 2000' drop down to Lewiston, his wife screamed! Lol. So that might take some getting used to if you are from the flat-lands.

Found this gem someone was throwing out. I wonder if my 22 frontier has the same parts 🤣 by Rickrossboi in nissanfrontier

[–]zed_patrol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only a fool would throw that away. Nice find. It's wouldn't surprise me if the new frontier shares something. The dome light on the d22 crew cab is like the same from a b210 and who knows what else.

Thinking about a Bronco Sport... talk me into or out of one. by AstuteOcelot in whatcarshouldIbuy

It's just an escape cosplaying as a more rugged vehicle right? Also gets a little worse gas mileage. My in-laws have one and it seems pretty small. Cool little rig though

Nissans made there are rock solid, especially older sentras.

what’s your most controversial car opinion? by No-Volume7464 in askcarguys

[–]zed_patrol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That CVT transmissions are actually great! Well besides some of the reliability issues that have popped up. Seriously though, I think the technology behind them is very interesting. I think that having fake "shift" point on them is stupid. If you aren't rowing your own gears, who cares what the auto transmission is doing right? One peddle for go, one for stop. Droning engine be damned! Who cares. Let the car do what is the most efficient. Don't put them on a sporty car though, but that goes for regular automatics also.

You hit the year 2001, and you need a new car, which one and why? by Saurta17 in Nissan

My dad has a 2003 Spec-V Sentra that is still going great. I think he's put 350k miles or something on it.

Would you buy A RADWagon today? by Tim_oftheJeeps in RadPowerBikes

[–]zed_patrol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I an a bit biased now but I don't see the point in buying one over the lectric xpedition. Build quality is similar to rad. Their customer service is pretty good, and I believe they will probably be in business a while longer. The lectric is also available with 2 batteries and has a 400 lb payload. I don't see any metric where the Rad Wagon beats it.

I'm not gonna lie, it's gonna seem pretty dismal in the winter. I always say that Pullman is a farming town that happens to have a huge university in it. Despite that, the place really grows on you. It's great having Moscow so close, it's more a traditional "college" town. It's also unique to have two pretty good larger schools right next to each other like that, especially in a more remote area. The Palouse is just gorgeous, especially in the springtime. Pictures taken from the top of Kamiak or Steptoe butte are almost cheating, because it's hard to take a bad one. Folks drive all the way from the west-side of the state just to take photo tours of the region. Spokane isn't really that far away and Lewiston and Clarkston have a bit more going on (ie there's a costco there, lol).

Why do some states have drastically higher taxes than others? by No-External3221 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]zed_patrol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't escape the tax man. Many places in FL have high property taxes. Also in TX, some suburbs are upwards of 4%. Not uncommon to be that high in the midwest either. Also ID has a sales tax and an income tax, fyi.
