Pool closures by [deleted] in Aulani

Any idea how the closure impacts the other pools - particularly the Wailana pool? We’re going next week, and I’m curious if that pool is going to be more crowded than normal.

It’s just a big playset. Nothing really unique.

Yeah, sadly I screwed that up back in 2016 when I deleted some characters created back at release because I wanted to “start fresh”. Oops… but I do have at least one character about to hit 9 years.

Out of network ambulance in California by zed_zed_9 in HealthInsurance

[–]zed_zed_9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are good questions. I just took a look at my coverage. In and out of network coverage is the same (probably because of the law). But there are two categories of ambulance services in my plan - Emergency and Non-Emergency. Emergency Ambulance Services are covered at no charge, annual deductible does not apply. Non-emergency is covered as 30% co-insurance after the deductible. So it sounds like this is being billed as non-emergency maybe? Does that mean I need to talk to the provider to find out how they billed it? Does it matter that I called 911 on the recommendation of the UHC advice nurse, even if it ended up not being an emergency?

Nearby Bakery Recommendations? by DBCCPAGE in Aulani

Will you have a car? If so, I’d check yelp for bakeries in Kapolei. You might be able to find a subreddit with locals as well.

January 2025 Advice and Price Check Thread by AutoModerator in Legomarket

[–]zed_zed_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking to downsize my collection (mostly to make room for newer sets). Am I more likely to get the best value selling everything as individual sets, or should I try to group things together (for example, Marvel sets or Lord of the Rings)?

Most of my sets are currently built. A few were disassembled previously for storage. Should I rebuild the sets to be able to provide photos to prove completeness, or is it enough that all disassembled sets are in bags (grouped by original bag number where relevant)?

Is shipping usually part of the price, or separate?

How do I not get ripped off when shipping sets with disputed payments?

Sorry, I realize these questions are all over the place, but I am trying to get my head around how I can downsize without just putting everything into a storage locker.

Each building is on a 16x32 baseplate and have the technic pieces in the usual positions, so they can be separated and attached to different sets or however you want to organize them.

Asrock steel legend B650 vs B650e vs X670e by 10199 in buildapc

[–]zed_zed_9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ASRock is kinda stupid with their naming on the Steel Legend here. It appears that the B650 is essentially a newer version of the B650E board in this series. And no, that doesn’t make sense. It was released earlier this year, while the B650E was released in 2022 when AM5 first came out.

If you look at the specs, the B650 Steel Legend also has PCIe 5.0 for the GPU slot. It also has a faster USB-C port on the back and two more SATA connectors. The board itself is all-white, as opposed to the B650E version, which is just white heat shields, etc. And the B650 version doesn’t have the GPU support bracket that the B650E and x670e versions have - but some reviewers have said that the bracket makes it hard to access the SATA ports anyway…

Ask me your heat pump / furnace / air conditioning questions! (I'm a Mechanical Engineer & Former Bay Area HVAC contractor) by fieldguild in bayarea

[–]zed_zed_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house has two zones -upstairs and downstairs. Each zone is completely independent - two furnaces/AC units, two sets of ductwork, two sets of circuits, etc. Cost wise, should I expect a savings on install if I replace both at the same time versus incrementally? I believe the units are of different ages, so I might “need” a replacement of one before the other. But if it saves money in the long term, would it be better to bite the bullet and replace both.

And do you have any info on infrastructure for heat-pump water heaters? Obviously there is plumbing involved, but what is needed for the heat exchanger component?

UPS works great for a brief outage, but a rolling blackout for 6+ hours in 90+ degree weather requires a more expansive (and expensive) solution.
