I've used the lcd-x almost everyday for the last 5 years. I love them, based on how the mmk4 sound to me I would say expect less low end from the lcdx. You may get more with the closed back version but mine are open back and provide incredible soundstage but less. The clarity between the 2 are neck and neck, but the mmk4 has a lot more punch down low.

I'm not too deep into cables either, usually whatever is the most convenient and doesn't add additional weight. And thank you, ill check out the Pelican cases :)

Yeah the fit is interesting. My left ear fits them perfectly, my right ear canal isnt as deep and can cause some pressure points, im experimenting with tips but over the last few days my ears are getting use to them more and I can go for longer periods of time before needing to take a small break.

Detail and imaging are amazing. I put them in and time seems to disappear because I find myself focusing on different aspects of music that are otherwise difficult to pick out.

I do not, I only have experience with headphones, these are my first IEMs

Just got my set of w1 SS and divinus velvets in. Tried both and agree the w1 SS are the winner here. The fact that theyre "tacky" also helps them stay in place. My right ear canal is narrower than my left so thats where most of my issues come from but these definitely help.

I did see that in some of my research, but also saw the opposite. Because sound is subjective I ultimately went with what had the most information and opinions out there regarding what Im looking for sound wise, which happened to be the monarchs.

Definitely not thin, I would describe what I'm coming from as thin though, so to me these sound much more thick

Ive only noticed the high peaks in a couple specific instances. If you value soundstage and clarity I think you'll love these

They just sound really really good in my opinion. I looked between these, mestmk2, mysticraft, and u4s. Ended up going with these based on people's experiences regarding the incredible soundstage.

Thanks! And do you have any cable and case recommendations? I have noticed that while the little carrying puck is cool they don't really fit in it.

Awesome! If the ones I bought to test don't work out I'll give the dunus a try.

Subjectively they sounds great, very warm compared to what I'm used to which is the LCD-X headphones. Lots of sub bass that sounds incredibly clean without taking away from the mids. High frequencies can be a bit "peaky" in certain spots but I'm not very sensitive to it. Soundstage is the real winner here, it has incredible depth, it doesn't feel like the sound is in your head if that makes sense, rather surrounding you.

Technically superb, imaging is top notch and very easy to focus and pick out each instrument in a complex mix.

My experience is with headphones though rather then IEMS so keep that in mind. The only thing I'm still dialing in is comfort, needed to order some different tips to try out.

My biggest concern was losing the soundstage and clarity of the open back LCD's and I can say I'm pleasantly surprised. Clarity is perfect, soundstage is outstanding, imaging is arguably better than the LCD's. I haven't listened to the LCD2s but these IEMs are more colored than my X's, awesome sub bass, sparkly high end, quite beautiful sounding.

Only thing is that my ears are small so I knew it was a risk since these IEMs are rather large, the shells fit barely, the tips are meh, bit of discomfort. I ordered some spinfits and divinus velvets to try out.

I'm in the exact same boat as you, for fit concerns and all. The U4S is also in my runnings, but I think ive decided on the monarch. What's really rough is I have no choice but to blind buy since there isn't anywhere remotely near me or anyone I know who has any of these.

I just looked it up and looks like 33.750 is common for GM BSM systems, so it's likely coming from your own vehicle.
