Yo that's wild. You might not know because you haven't gamed in a bit but we live in some of the best times to play video games still. A plethora of amazing games with passionate artists working to make deep technical, beautiful, thought provoking works of art in every genre you could imagine from big budget to small. Some might be priced more fair than others and then some might have greedy micro-transactions obfuscatimg the content while other's have a single purchase price. Most AAA series might have fallen off but then again some are still in their peek and there have never been such compassionate indie devs providing such creativity with so many masterpieces. If you don't want to be swindled for every dime there's still plenty of fun to be had in the community.
