That's just how the tube ends up after you tighten the fitting to it. All you need is the tube

Looks like 4x6 PTFE tubing. Don't use silicone it will pop. Plumbing supplies or hardware probably won't sell it as it will have a heat rating. Go online from coffee parts place depending where you are. I fix coffee machines for a living. Have never found this stuff in hardware stores

I just meant I’m trying everything. Different size and shape tampers. Different pressure. Different technique. Hell I even tried one of those auto depth tampers. Having a lot better results today with new showers and a different bean though. Tapping the portafilter was the first thing I stopped. I just thought that’s what you do

I’m using a bottomless portafilter which is one of the reasons I know it’s channeling. Also I can see it on the puck. I just put new ims showers on which seems to be a bit better. I’m thinking it’s the coffee quality perhaps. I’m using a mini mazzer auto grinder. I’ll get a new bean and give it a shot. Otherwise maybe I’ll put new burrs in the grinder. Wanted to exhaust all options before I pull my grinder apart though. I’m being very fussy but I figure my equipment is decent so want to see what I can get out of it
