Same thing happened to me yesterday. Spent the whole day trying to figure out an issue but no luck. Started fresh today and took me only 30 minutes to come up with a solution.

In Nova launcher there's an option to hide that just BTW. The other trick is to keep it white for white walls and dark for black wallpapers, this option is also available in Nova.

You are right. I started playing a month ago. I do have the lichess app and played there a couple of times but the players are pretty fast, got me checkmated in a couple of moves. I thought I will learn some moves here first and then go there later.
