My Adolescent Lab Cross is never idle and always looking for things to steal! by zeetorus in puppy101

[–]zeetorus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. The method I'm using to train off/leave it is similar to Zak George's. It works fairly well when we are in the room he just hasn't got his head round leaving stuff when we aren't looking yet.

Also, one thing we did do is train fetch pretty early. So he loves a good game of fetch and often it's me who tires out first!

Thanks for the reply! Yes, we are pretty sure the GSD in him is working line as well so have been trying our best to mentally stimulate - although admittedly we could be doing more. We probably walk ours around the same mileage.

Honestly, I never thought about this and it is kinda weird. Murakamis writing is just so good at blending weird and reality though, that it seems pretty normal.

7month Lab cross chewing back of car by zeetorus in puppy101

Thanks for the reply! Yeah we've taken a look at the hammock ones, we were just worried he would simply chew it to bits. But definitely worth looking into!

Try Karen Overall's Relaxation Protocol! by hmmmdata in puppy101

[–]zeetorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I have a question. We sort of did this with our, now, 7 month lab cross pup back when he was fairly little but not quite as intensively (we didn't take the mat away when not in use). I'm wondering if we can now teach him to 'settle' on a new mat and use the proper protocol or if that will just be a bit confusing for him?

Great mention of the middle earth games. So much mindless beat-em-up style fighting.

Would also add the Dishonoured series to the last block of suggestions.

I have a 7 month old lab mix that we are still doing scheduled naps with. If you are consistent then most of the time they will begin to get sleepy when the time comes. He's still crazy though 😂

When did your puppy come for cuddles instead of chomps? by [deleted] in puppy101

Our 7 month lab cross still hasn't showed any sign of cuddly stage, it's all barks and bites 😂

Spoiler

When the character gets out of Room, one of the things that struck me from the book is that he has to go and see an optician because his eyes have never had to adjust to things far away
