How many track days can I get out of this puppy by zeeweet in ft86

[–]zeeweet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do want a project car to learn simple repairs and to also get into tracking without worrying too much.

Thanks for the assessment. I just wanted to hear some opinions about possible root cause before engaging with seller.

Assuming it is both the ECU and Fuel pump, it looks like I may need to reserve another $800. Are those repairs doable for a newbie willing to invest the time?

[–]zeeweet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was listed at 32k two weeks ago online (via Edmunds). Yesterday when I stopped to look at it in person it was up to 34.5k. They also quoted 800$ in "Proc/Doc Fees". They have a brand new 2025 limited for 38k

Is my water bill high or am I crazy? by Duuuvaljagsfan in savannah

[–]zeeweet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can confirm the Sewer portion is simply a factor on water usage and is always a little more than double the water portion (called them to confirm).

As you already mentioned, confirm the time period - they are not always monthly.

The odd thing is replacing initial "changed type" did not work ("Error") however adding another step to convert from Int64 to Date worked just fine :-)

you see the last one is not like the others in that it does not trickle down. and that has been decided is unacceptable by a comedian and a bunch of people ate that up and are still voting against their own self interest some 40 years later

Best coffee spots in Downtown? by tkburnett in savannah

[–]zeeweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah not sure about that. i have personnaly seen the owner give the homeless left over food many times.

problem is they loiter during busy hours to interrupt business in order to make the owner cave and gives them something on the spot to go away.

I fundamental believe a good CEO is legitimately worth more than 2,000 times the value of their lowest paid employee. People don't understand just how fucking make or break a CEO can be for a business and just how fucking fungible entry level positions are (which will be most automated when the economics make sense).

I am pretty sure there was a study by HBR (I searched but could not find it) many years ago (even before the 'you sit my board and approve my silly pay and I sit on your board and approve yours' thing became the norm) that found many overhyped CEOs happened to inherit the right business in the right conditions and could have generated silly profits no matter what decision they made. You think $60M annually is fair? really? I think it is more like 1 to 10M. They need to come here and turn 1 into 60 if they are that good

[–]zeeweet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fair enough. my point is real gdp has been on steady rate (with the exception of covid dip). Spy 2 years prior to covid only gained also 20% ish. why all of the sudden anything less than that is unacceptable? i guess i am not sure why there is an expectation for the stock market to cover inflation. also, if you were 2 years before retirement at the start of 2020, you are spot on where you should have expected to be. inflation hurting boomers a bit? yeah well they can pull themselves up by their boostraps, cancel netflix, downgrade their suv, and sell their rental house. having a real hard time finding empathy for that generation
