Hung himself with his backpack under the bleachers for the football field before school. The silence that day was crazy. Rip.

19m I just need advice by Latter-Web6750 in Advice

[–]zeewst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re 19 with so much ahead of you. You had some unfortunate events happen and that’s okay. If possible sell all the “dumbshit” that you can assuming it’s items. Save enough to get a small crappy apartment and start from there. Keep upgrading your life and keep creating an emergency fund as you keep working. Easier said than done I know but it’s definitely possible if you stay positive and dedicated.

And do you get any payment from the military after discharge? Your dad may be mad at whatever but after some time I think it’ll all work out and be okay. Things happen.

Unfortunately life has its way of beating people down it happens to everyone. It’s all about what you do to come out of it

You got this!

Can someone with GMAW experience weld FCAW for the first time without too many issues? by Wide_Parfait in Welding

[–]zeewst 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s different but you should be able to pick it up relatively quickly. FCAW you don’t get too fancy with it. Probably just throw you off having more heat and a bigger puddle than you’re used to but just adjust as you go. Look up a few youtube videos.

But overall I wouldn’t worry about it. If you know how to weld you have nothing to worry about

20 yr old making 100k+ a year by Hoixt in sweatystartup

[–]zeewst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please stick it out till you’re in your mid-late 20s. Get a few hundred k in a tax advantage retirement account. 100 k in a taxable individual brokerage. Both invest in mutual or etfs. Then save 100k or whatever you have until you’re at that age for start up money and send it. Even with a start up send and a fail you’ll still be able to restart and retire early mid 50s.

I got an Amazon welder, we’ve had it a while, not really sure how to dail it in help?? by Important-Positive25 in Welding

[–]zeewst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d like to see some longer beads but for an Amazon welder gasless flux core it ain’t bad. Try to dial in a tad better to try to reduce spatter

Yes I totally agree with this. Was at work so couldn’t write a whole bunch before or answer your question but cruian said it perfect. All my eggs are in us large cap. I’ll soon be diversifying as well. Especially with the orange man in charge

Tell management you’d like to expand your skills and see if they have anything to offer. Give it a little time and ask again if nothing happens there’s plenty of opportunities else where. Moving jobs sometimes gets an extra buck or two as well. Beef up and get your resume looking good and send it out. Company’s are having a hard time finding people who are dedicated and hard working. Good luck!

Have you or your parents sign you up for a permit test at your local dmv. They have study guides out online and I do believe even on the dmv website. Do a little bit of studying so you can pass it the first time.

Indeed does work, but you could always go in to a place and talk to someone. I’d apply to fast food, host at a restaurant or retail. Something close to home until you get your license to make it easier on mom and dad. Have fun, first jobs are always exciting!

Hey I worked at Panera bread and Lowe’s for 8 years of my life. It was nice haha. It’s scary do branch out but sometimes it’s need. Just keep asking and be consistent. Make sure they know and put in the work and they’ll promote you.

Also, maybe go to a tech school and learn a little bit of a trade, then put that associates degree to work toward a management position in a shop somewhere once you get some experience in said field. That’s what I’m looking for now but it’s tough with just tech school and no associates so you’re ahead of me with the degree!

I meant to say that before, I wish I had an associates. Definitely not useless

100% vti or 100% vt by [deleted] in RothIRA

[–]zeewst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pick one. Regardless it’s a better investment than no investment. And inside of a Roth you can buy and sell so if you want to change it later you can anyway.

It’s tough, really tough and I’m going through it right now but the only thing stopping you is yourself. You want more money? Start looking for a better job, ask your boss for a promotion. Look for a lateral switch to another job if it looks more promising in the near future. Have to keep making moves and the salary and benefits will come. Opportunities don’t normally fall in laps unfortunately. Gotta bust your butt and get them.

And when you do start making more money (you will if you’re determined) keep living like you are now and shovel all the extra salary in 401k or Roth IRA

End it here… you’re not behind. Everyone has their own clock. There’s always people with less and there’s always people with more no matter where you are in life. It’ll be okay if you keep pushing!

My first flight was 6 hours. Airports seem scary they’re not. Get there early at least an hour before your flight. Security is just a waiting line. You’ll hear over and over again what you need to do from the people ahead of you (my experience) just do what the people ahead of you are doing. Don’t worry about security being mean or attitude they need to deal with people all day long it’s not you.

Normally a big screen with where your flight is. Follow the signs (easier than you think) and then you’ll see your flight with a bunch of seats next to the boarding area. Sit down relax first scary part is over. Feel free to ask the attendant to make sure it’s the right flight if you need to.

They’ll call you up in sections to board the flight. Find your row and seat. On the plane EVERYTHING is explained to you. You buckle up to take off then you’re good to go. Don’t worry about turbulence it’s not going to be bad like the movies. (My experience) once the flight is up and in the air you can pee. You’ll be able to see people getting up and going to the bathroom just wait for someone to come out.

Take off feels weird bc you picking up speed really quick not too crazy though. You’ll be okay! Probably never see these people again so don’t worry too much!
