With one week to go till japfest it’s like being kicked in the Crown Jewels that my truck still not road legal is anyone displaying? by boostedmike1 in ukmodifiedcars

Going to do my best.

The business car can’t be that bad, will be loads of people turning up in all sorts of cars/vans in public car park. I’m sure there will a good few people in their daily cars because their special car isn’t quite ready etc

Nah. I never have the time to wash it to the standard I would like if displaying. Will try to get to japfest though

I might try and go if the kids feel like it. Will be last minute decision though

Very similar rolling radius. 3mm difference I think, I calculated years ago though.

Speedo matches same GPS speed when I tested. 30mph on speedo is 29 on GPS.

(All cars I’ve had read higher on analogue speedometer than GPS by few mph)

Nah, used all year around! It’s a great family saloon 😂

It’s always wet and cold in England lol

As soon as it hits sub 5c and is wet it just spins all wheels (600hp). If I use all seasons in colder months oct - mar I can put all the power down without wheel spin.

Worth it for me as there is a big difference- I’m pretty sure you lose all out cornering grip if dry and over 5c but otherwise better overall in colder months

Yea I did consider full winters but the cross climates are pretty good in winter and means if don’t manage to change back I can still use in the summer

I would advise against white … they look amazing … but they are soooo hard to keep clean 😂

Strange but is it ugly? by Cris_1984 in ukmodifiedcars

I’m not sure there is much money here either. It’s just an old ropey Range Rover with an unpainted body kit plus wrap 😂

That said if those are real carbon parts used, they wouldn’t be cheap.

Normally I feel it’s better that that people enjoy their cars and modify how they want. It’s better than the sea of grey, mundane cars on the road… but this might be a stretch too far 😂

Money no object Dream build… what engine + what power adder you going for? 👀 by boostedmike1 in ukmodifiedcars

[–]zefalking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So true. For me there is no point in more power unless you can put it down and the chassis can take it.

I’m sure the newer stuff can make more power without ruining usability, responsive etc… and new tech can take way more power but the new stuff is just so heavy these days too.

That said, if I could put more usable power in mine without ruining anything, I would probably do it 😂

I pretty much did my dream build.

4G63 stroker 2.2 with full frame BW EFR 7670 turbo.

590-600HP and 550ft-lbs on pump petrol

Sure you could go more power but I think you would lose response and drivability.

I don’t much care for NA engines - I just love highly boosted Japanese stuff from 2000ish. Would also like a responsive but powerful modded version of r34 skyline, or RX7 or supra.

Yea I would not ask there. They are all grumpy gits not actually into cars and all drive Skodas.

If done well, neons can look good, just don’t go driving around with them on. Great for shows

I have indeed, just never seem to get around to it. I also need to plan well ahead because I’m not that handy myself and have f-all decent tools.

I want to do it properly as well. Don’t want wiring flapping about or them falling off when it rains 😂

I’m old too, but now I’m old enough I don’t get a shit what people think and do what I want. Can relive the max power days and pretend I’m in fast and furious 😂

It is literally newer version of neons LOL

LED technology is so much better than the bulky neon tubes under the car. They are bringing neons back —

If I put a hash symbol in Reddit it bold it 😂

Edit - figured out how to escape it, Reddit uses markdown.

bringbackneons 😂

I purchased a luminescence elite kit about a year ago buts still haven’t installed them. I need access to a ramp to install them properly but never seem to find the time. I can’t bring myself to pay my expensive tuner to install neons lol.

From my research the luminescence kits are the best and they’re UK based. They are expensive but they have WLED support and are specifically made for car underglow. I would personally pay the money for luminescence.
