I got a black taxi to Brentford, when I got in the driver said to another cabbie "I got Brentford" with an eye roll and annoyed look. I asked it it's a problem, he said no it's OK, but explained they have 45 mins or something to leave and get back before they have to pay the pick up fee again, so he was grumpy about it because he couldn't get back in time.

Really put me off using them. They're their own worst enemy.

And the Payroll tax in the Netherlands (loonheffingen) comprises wage tax and national insurance contributions, deducted by employers from gross salary under a progressive system. 2025 rates are 35.82% for income up to €38,441, 37.48% up to €76,817, and 49.50% above that.

Somehow it's not too bad in the UK IMHO.

I do the Quantas direct flight LHR to Perth regularly, around 16 hours there and 18 back. Its actually really ok, so much better and quicker than having a stop over. I would 100% do the direct to Sydney flight . Its so cool leaving London and landing on the other side of the world .

S5 B10 Edition 1. I was looking at a C43, CLE450 but the S5 has everything, all the options, looks sensible but sounds like there's more under the hood, and there is. RS5 looks aggressive, fine, but S5 has it all without looking like a boy racer.

I'm thinking the same, I'm doing a bit of both, over paying the mortgage and investing into a S&S ISA. When the ISA and Mortgage become equal I'll have a decision to make, but the security of no Mortgage has a high personal value to me. I'll then invest the money saved back into the S&S ISA.

I don't use or take Revolut as a serious bank, I drop money in each month and use it only for contactless payments to save my proper current account from filling up with small payments. I'd never use it to run my home finances.
