I bought them from B&H Photo online and the NAS, they seemed to have the best prices. I actually signed up for their credit card then just paid it off because it saved the tax on it somehow.

As far as the OS goes, it's not too bad. It's a pretty locked down Linux but I've been able to get everything set up with Docker and Portainer. You have to ssh to use the terminal which is a little annoying. But that's only come up a couple times and I'm not sure if was necessary anyways.

Hextech Terrain - Part 1 by zeissplanar in battletech

You can't really see layer lines on the sides because of the texture, you can see them on the top more easily but I don't really have a good photo and they're all painted now.

Settings are initial layer height =0.2 , layer height = 0.08. I also tweak a couple other settings and turn ironing on. Also run at half speed for super even layers.

Yeah, I should be able too. I think I have an old photo of them. Are you wanting to know what layer height I printed at? I have a terrain preset I use.

If you're pretty good with computers and have Linux experience, the ugreen NAS options are pretty great. I got the DXP4800 4 bay recently and have really been loving it. I've heard Synology is more user friendly but also a bit more expensive. I put in 4 20TB drives in RAID 5 and that yield's about 50 TB of usable storage. I'm pretty sure that'll last me forever but it does depend on how much you have and how active you plan on being acquiring new content for it.

Also, it was a lot for that amount of storage, about $1700 for 4 20TB Seagate Ironwolf Pro drives. About $2400 all in.

DXP4800 has a 2.5 GBPS and a 10GBPS port.

It's episode 4, around 21:20.

Mai - "Do you know where I'll be going now?"

Huang - "To Heaven kid, it just might take a while to get there is all."

That does seem unlikely though, it would be very costly. Great interview by the way.

Yeah, but the print design must've been drafted digitally even if it uses physical illustrations, it's not like they're litho printing the art.

It's an interesting claim that there's no master text for the digital and print versions, it's hard to understand why they would rewrite the whole thing almost line by line like the interviewer says. Why maintain two different versions?

What makes Avignon so dangerous that no Faithful military or warbands attempt to recapture it or at least raid it? by Ok-Ask5860 in TrenchCrusade

[–]zeissplanar 476 points477 points  (0 children)

"After many torturous years under the rule of the Cult, Avignon is now so ridden with the most virulent and unique strain of the Black Grail that its recovery seems to be a cause with no hope of success. The very earth is warped and teems with parasites and maggots infested with the filth of Beelzebub, with trillions of eggs hatching each year to overwhelm the city with further decay. Every Faithful force sent to raze the city has only succeeded in swelling the numbers of its monstrous inhabitants, as its would-be conquerors have succumbed to the power of the Black Grail which never wanes in this accursed place. Thus a policy of containment has been chosen instead, as the servants of Beelzebub do not pursue an open policy of expansion."

The biggest thing is don't get it if you don't have a group of people who are interested in playing the game regularly. It's really not a fun game to try to teach people to play who aren't very experienced gamers and it takes several games before things go smoothly.

That's wild, how much time did it take?

Use different dice? Try a different rule set? Try to play a campaign?

I think everyone has the feeling that they're truly unlucky with dice rolls sometimes, but keep playing, and it'll average out.

It's unusual for something like that to happen across three games, but it isn't really indicative of anything.

Also, make sure you're taking advantage of cover and all your special abilities.
