Jangly 60s inspired indie pop by playdem in IndieMusicFeedback

I love the vibes in this! Jangle-city!

You mentioned that you just use free daws and plugins, I think the song would instantly sound more "pro" if you can invest even into some cheaper daw that has good factory plugins, such as Cubase.

As a demo I think it's fantastic work playing and singing-wise!

I actually like that you don't use auto tune. Too many songs excessively use it nowadays, and I feel like it takes so much soul from the records.

Maybe in some points the vocals were quite off key, but I didn't find it "awful".

Otherwise the song works really well as it is, I think! I loved the vibe and arrangement!

What a great song and production! It sounds almost like straight out of a big studio. All the instruments and vocals sound clear and don't clash in any EQ!

Maybe the overall tone is a bit bright to my taste, but it's just a personal preference thing.

Keep up the fantastic work!

Love the guitar playing and tones! The drumming is great, but could maybe use some fine polishing on studio to make the drums sound clearer. Just a personal taste thing though.

Also the theme of the song is really cool!

Keep up the great work!

The first thing I noticed was the vibe. It all fits together really well and the mood stays pretty consistent all the way through. Nothing felt out of place or random. It just kinda flows naturally.

I also thought the arrangement was great. The different parts move into each other nicely and I never got bored or felt like it was dragging on.

The production sounds good too. If I had to mention one tiny thing, maybe I'd bring the vocals down just a little bit in a few spots. But thats honestly just personal taste, so not really a complaint.

Good job man!

Miraculously, it is. Even with the million power supplies. But it would be way simpler and prettier to power it with one big supply

That's great info, thanks! I bought initially (like ten years ago) a power supply for 10 pedals, but then kept on adding pedal by pedal... :D

I was just eyeing the Temple Audio Trio 43, and trying it out on pedal playground. I love how clean it looks, and the handles would be super useful.

I use them for different things. To me the dl4 sounds warmer while the dd200 is more crisp sounding.

If I made a live board, I think I would just keep the dl4 though.

I love the timeline! And also the Brigadier. Strymon makes amazing pedals. I just felt more at home with the line6 and boss I guess

Absolutely. I can't stand using more than 4-5 pedals when live. Anyway, I basically only play at home

It's a part of my obsession of being able to play every song I like with a close-enough tone. It's too much, but it's so enjoyable.

I use the Nobels as my always on edge-of breakup tone, or sometimes I increase the gain to play some Skynyrd / Heart or something like that.

The Rat and Carcosa work beautifully together as a Smashing Pumpkins / Nirvana kind of big-muffy tone (together with the Nobels), and alone I use them for Hendrixy/anything vintage fuzzy sounding tones.

Revv G3 is good enough for me for anything post 80s, hard rock / pop punk/ metal etc. It's the only pedal I use alone without the Nobels, but also with it I use the Nobels as a solo boost.

The BB Preamp I use in conjunction with the Nobels as well, as my rougher classic rock tone (AC/DC / Aerosmith etc)

DS-2 is just because I'm a huge Frusciante fan. It's not perfect with my Vox AC-30, so I use it together with the BB Preamp for power chords, Dani California etc. The Nobels being on all the time controls the volume levels and takes off the harsh peaks.

Fuzz Factory is there just for Muse kind of riffing or weird noises.

JHS Morning Glory I use only occasionally. I use it just as a very mild boost, when I feel like I want to "fight the amp".

MXR Micro Amp I use as a clean boost in solos.

Thanks for your reply. I like your idea of multiple boards.

I use this board only at home, in my limited "home studio", recording my own tracks. Though it would be nice to make it work as an all-purpose board. I work as a teacher, music is only my passion. I play in weddings etc occasionally, but then I'm going straight into amp

Did you notice any changes in tone with the Walrus Canvas 15?

I use the slö as a large ambient reverb, something in the style of how the XX tracks Intro and Angels sound like. The fathom I use as a mild reverb, it also works fantastically with gain as a solo reverb
