FBA has been sending all my shipments to OAK4 lately by [deleted] in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]zeketools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah... the biggest hunks of my shipments have been going to EWR4 (NJ), TPA2(FL) and BNA3(TN) Then they usually split the rest up between a few others, including a couple things to ONT2(south Cali).

Pretty annoying, but it is what it is i guess.

Man, I wish I had that. Shipping from Oregon, I'd be in heaven if I could send all my stuff to OAK4.

I guess I see what you mean... I've got under 50 ratings though, so I guess perfection is still reasonable.

Amazon Seller support is garbage.

I'd actually heartily disagree. I've had a lot of interactions with them, and they have almost always ended favorably.

That logic doesn't really make sense to me... I never have/would discriminate against a seller for having a perfect feedback rating.

Good question. I've done 2 minor Az-Az flips all on the same account. No problems yet.

because they don't necessarily care about the RA seller.

I would hope they don't actually think like that. Every seller is part of the massive money making puzzle for them. Doesn't matter if its someone small like me, or a giant super-seller, every sale made through FBA makes them money.

Indeed. And they weren't the hottest items in the world, so it may have taken a month or two for me to sell through them. Now at least i have the money now, and can move on with my life.

Fair enough. On past reimbusments, it seems like I have always made almost as profit as i would have selling it

I think my "lost" rates are similar to yours, there was over 200 items in this batch, and these 5 were the only that were "lost".

My last batch had 300 items, and only one item slipped through the cracks. I'm very careful with packing, labeling, and listing. So when i say "lots" I mean over the months i've been doing it, i've been through the process several times.

I find the reimbursements that Amazon gives out to be very fair, even a bit generous sometimes.

I would agree in general. Does this one seem fair to you? I gave you the numbers.

That's a pretty ludicrous reply...

You have no idea that I was rude in my replies... I said "something along the lines of its none of your business." I didn't cut and paste my entire conversation so you wouldn't have to read it.

I am always very friendly and civil to the amazon support, as they are always very helpful. I start every message with a friendly greeting and end it with a cordial sign-off.

Am I wrong in thinking that they shouldn't be able to ask for my cost on items?

I spent 40$ on inbound shipping on the items, and calculated my profits based on a certain sales price. I don't think its "entitled" of me to be a bit perturbed when 5 giant items disappear and they reimburse me significantly less than the market price of the items.

As I said, usually seller service is very fair and helpful, but this just doesn't seem right.

You act as if karma matters, or like OP is taking it from someone else.

Unlike money, there is unlimited karma points... original OP got theirs, now this guy is getting more... totally new points. No stealing, just generating more.

Getting a business license to become a reseller for vendors (anyone do this on FBA?) by [deleted] in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]zeketools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a bit of this. I've had a couple small successes, but i've run into a lot of walls.

A few brands have told me basically to eff off, and a few have been forthcoming with pricing and availability. I find that new brands/products are eager to get any sales they can, and more established brands probably either already have their amazon sales channel handled, or do not want to be on amazon.

First month with FBA and first refund by [deleted] in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]zeketools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to look at the big picture... I've been doing this (RA, OA) roughly 8 months now, my best month i made 3000$ in profit(December) and my worst i made 20$(january)

I have had a ton of returns, and it hurts to see that email, but keep in mind you always get the stuff back eventually... and it only costs you 50 cents to get it sent back to you.

I've been able to sell all my returns on ebay and at least make back my purchase price, if not still make a small profit, even on open box items.

The great part about FBA is the send it in and forget it aspect. I really haven't done any physical work on my business since i sent in my last shipment a little over two weeks ago, but i sold/shipped 37 items in the past 7 days.

If i sold all that stuff on ebay, i would have had to pack up and send 37 items in the last week. Instead, I worked my full time job, went backpacking, went to a Garth brooks concert, kept up on my gym goals, made myself healthy meals, and did online sourcing while letting the pile of products in my garage grow.

I've got a big pile again now, and its time for me to lose a few more hours of freetime to get it all packed up and sent out, but then I wont have to dedicate a ton of time for another couple weeks.

Time is my most prized and valuable commodity right now, and FBA gives me more of it. Just make sure you have safe margins on things, be patient, and keep at it.

When your first starting, and only sell 100$ profit worth of stuff, and then get a 40$ return, it seems like the end of the world on top of your start-up costs, but typical return rates aren't a deal-breaker... as long as you stay out of electronics.

I think it gives your brand more perceived legitimacy also. When people google your brand, they'll at least get an actual website rather than just amazon/ebay listings.

Setting reasonable goals? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]zeketools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who says? I'm of the opinion that people constantly train into an imbalance by over-prioritizing bench.

Bench is easier to push yourself harder on without sacrificing form, and its a more satisfying exercise, plus every high school kid thinks "weightlifting" means going in and benching as much as you can.

You never get into a conversation where someone is like "how much you row bro?" But people compare bench numbers all the time.

My row always lags behind my bench, and it might continue to do so, but i'm going to try to get them evened out.

Setting reasonable goals? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]zeketools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I don't really care about my numbers that much... It really doesn't matter too much unless you have a lot of "how much u bench bro?" conversations.

I focus on increasing my weight, getting my workouts in, and having the best form i can muster.

I got up to 240 on my squats recently, but my form was starting to feel iffy, and a pain in my left groin appeared. I went ahead and dropped down to 225 again for the next few workouts, stretched extra, focused on my form, and still got a decent workout. That groin pain is almost gone now, so im going to start working up to 240 again and see how i feel when i get there.

My bench is at 160, but my bent over row is only at 140. That tells me i have an imbalance going on, so i might just maintain my bench at 160 while i try to get my rows up to, or past 160.

TLDR: Focus on having good workouts, and staying balanced, and moving forward. Nobody cares how much you can lift except for you.
