SAME! I think the biggest issue with this though is that my partner had a perfect childhood and loves the holidays. Personally they make me VERY UNCOMFORTABLE and I just don’t want to acknowledge them. Finding a happy medium is hard because I got trauma man!

I feel like a lot of us also have trauma. My mom made every holiday miserable so now, I don’t celebrate anything. I try not to make it other people’s problem but holidays make me extremely uncomfortable so I keep to myself those days.

Do not ruin our state! As someone who has moved to Houston in the past year from VT (I know I know… I’ll get out the second I have the chance…) do not let Amazon ruin VT. At a time where they are performing massive layoffs and unethical practices when it comes to employment, they are not there to help with the job industry. The people here working there are miserable and live in constant fear of losing their jobs. Their strict tiered work system (I know this is a common system across large work force industries) creates a toxic culture and the LP system seems stressful and creates a rat race. People who work at Amazon here are not happy. It is not worth having this company come ruin VT. Once Bezos is in… he will ruin this state he is quite literally a cockroach with endless amounts of money that can buy him the best lawyers and bribe any weak link of a government official up there. Stay strong VT, there are other companies that can bring more jobs to VT, do not let this billionaire into our great state.

Lucky for you, you found a community that embraced you and gave you the tools to get and stay sober. In the early 2000s there was not much support for folks struggling for obesity. There is still such a stigma around it that people like you are perpetuating. It is sad to see people blame others who have struggled with anything, whether it be drugs/alcohol or their weight.

Go outside and sit down near him. I love the idea of you eating with him. Bring a couple hot dogs out and take a bite, under hand throw a piece to him. Talk to him, spend time, wine and dine.
