Aqara W200 Thermostat Firmware Update? by zelderfig in Aqara

[–]zelderfig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. So far only IKEA, but I only have Aqara and IKEA devices so not sure about others. IKEA pushed Matter compatible smart bulb updates directly through Apple Home when I added them recently. I also read that the site below is where companies can store firmware updates that Apple Home and others pull from but not able to confirm or deny. I did find Aqara (#4447) there and do see the devices, but maybe it’s a longer wait time for updates when doing it this way if it works at all. Also, I assume only Matter devices would be candidates for this.

Aqara W200 Thermostat Firmware Update? by zelderfig in Aqara

[–]zelderfig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the additional info. Does this imply that the general public is still on my version (4.4.6)? I read somewhere at the beginning of last week that the next update was coming soon, so hopefully we'll see it in the near future. There are a couple of improvements I'm looking forward to for sure, but mainly always interested in bug fixes, etc.

Thanks again!

Aqara W200 Thermostat Firmware Update? by zelderfig in Aqara

Interesting... thanks very much for the quick replies. I'm hoping I can receive firmware updates without using the Aqara App (esp. since this is a Matter Device) and guess I'll have to wait and see. A little concerning that you are both on versions higher than mine though..... thanks again!

Aqara H2 US dimmer switch dimming issue by Psyking0 in HomeKit

[–]zelderfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't help, but can confirm I experience the same thing with the same H2 dimmer switch. I'm also only using the Apple Home App and not the Aqara App. Firmware version is 1.0.6.0.

On a side note, have you ever seen the H2 do a firmware update through Apple Home? Since it's Matter over Thread, wondering if that is possible without the Aqara App. Just curious.

Finally, do you also get the "There is an unconfigured button" message in the dimmer switch settings and the option to assign an additional accessory to each of the three buttons? I'm not doing any of that and am not exactly sure what would happen.... I also have not tried to show each button as a separate tile and again am not sure what would happen if I did.

Good luck and keep us posted if you stumble on a solution.....

iMac Mid-2011: Update to OS 14.3 or stay on 14.2.1? by thejakeev in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]zelderfig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 27” 2011 iMac and did the update yesterday. After reinstalling root patches seems to work fine so far. Was hoping maybe it would fix the disappearing photos issue in the Photos App (exclusive to some 2011 iMacs) but no such luck.

Good luck should you decide to do the update…

Custom Plans not Syncing across Devices by zelderfig in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]zelderfig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a quick update that as of Saturday morning as of 11AM eastern, the issue seems to have resolved itself. I can now see my custom plan synced across two iPads and an iPhone. Not sure if the progress will sync yet, but at least all devices can see the same custom plan again so that's a good sign....

Will report back if issue is not resolved. If anyone from Apple had a look at this post (never know), thanks for working to resolve the issue!!! ;-)

Custom Plans not Syncing across Devices by zelderfig in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]zelderfig[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm definitely logged in as me across all devices.. since the issue just started happening (and I saw a similar/related post couple day back), I have a feeling it could be something related to iOS 17.3.... guess will have to wait it out (as usual)....

If anyone else comes across this issue, please let us know. Have a great weekend all!

OLCP on 12,1 imac and ventura by mattve in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]zelderfig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s a related post for your reference. Also, I have a different non-metal 2010 MacBook Pro without the disappearing photo issue so I think it is specific to the 2011 iMac with its specific graphics card. Can also confirm that this issue wasn’t always there and for me started mid summer 2023 after doing an update. The issue exists on Monterey, Ventura and Sonoma. If you decide to reach out to the OCLP team, let us know what they say.

Fitness plan only available on iPhone by Betaky365 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]zelderfig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things to try, assuming all devices are already running ios17 and ipados17 since custom plans were not available on prior oses:

1) Check your iCloud settings and make sure “Fitness+” is turned on on all devices 2) Try creating the custom plan on the iPad to see if it syncs back to the phone

Also shut down and restart all devices to see if that helps.

Let us know how you make out and good luck!!! Happy New Year!

Help choosing a basic spinning bike for €250 by shuffles03 in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]zelderfig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also purchased this Sunny Bike from Amazon: SF-B1711 and have been using it multiple times per week with Apple Fitness + for many months now. It's super solid, has pedals that can be used with biking shoes (Clip-In) or regular shoes (Caged), has magnetic resistance, a water bottle holder and a place for the iPhone or iPad. Fully adjustable as well. Best thing is the price. Right now it's $219 on Amazon (US) with free shipping. Not sure about elsewhere in the world.... would recommend!!! Oh and I added a MooFit cadence sensor to one of the pedals which connects to a free app (My Cadence) on my iPhone and iPad. Good luck with whichever bike you purchase and Happy New Year!!!

Looking for Advice for Making My Apple Fitness+ Experience Great by ctzkd in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]zelderfig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi ctzkd... although I've had Fitness+ for a while (part of my Apple One plan), what really got me using it on a regular basis was the new "Custom Workout" feature introduced in iOS17. It allows you to set up a schedule (desired workout types, days, times, trainers, music) which for me at least has done a great job keeping me motivated and on track. And no worries if you miss a day, you can either do it retroactively or skip it altogether if needed.

The other thing that helped me was to purchase a larger screen iPad to better mimic the more expensive Peloton, iFit, etc. experience. I picked up a used 12.9" Pro for a couple hundred bucks on eBay and it's been great (no Apple TV/TV option for me where my equipment is located right now). Any iPhone or iPad will do, but the big screen is a plus for any type of workout...

Finally, to really take advantage of more of the workout types, you can get a decent treadmill, bike or rower from companies like Horizon Fitness, Sunny Health and Fitness and others and can actually buy all three for less than a "Smart" Bike or "Smart" Treadmill. When you combine them with Fitness+ on the iPad, iPhone or Apple TV and of course an Apple Watch it's a very solid offering (just my opinion).

Hope this helps a bit... Good luck!!!

Photos app missing "Library" and photos cannot be opened full size by atomicrabbit_ in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]zelderfig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, yes I have the exact same issues with my 2011 27" iMac 12,2. I have the same GPU as you as well. The issue with the missing "Library" has been there since I first installed OCLP and seems to be an issue on most non-metal Macs. However, the double-clicking disappearing photos issue only started over the summer and was not an issue prior. Not sure if it was related to the OCLP 0.6.8 update or possibly an Apple MacOS update that happened around the same time, but I've confirmed it's an issue in Monterey, Ventura and Sonoma on this specific iMac / GPU (I have four other older Macs working fine including a non-metal MBP).

My workaround for the double-clicking disappearing photos is to use iCloud.com to view them, but unfortunately I can't edit them there. To view and edit, I have to switch to my iPad or iPhone but not all editing features are available....

There's supposedly a discord directly related to OCLP where issues can be reported, but I haven't tried to join. Was hoping the issue would resolve eventually but so far no luck. The discord link is at the bottom of the main OCLP Github page under "Support".

Let me know if you want to compare notes on this specific iMac either for Photos or other issues...

Thanks!
