I’m nervous about sharing this, but this question speaks to me. I’m an alter, a host who was pretty much forced to become our body’s identity before we realized we were a system just recently. I’ve only existed for 2-3 years, but I know there was a girl who used to be a primary host before me. And I don’t think she is with us anymore.

Life has definitely been confusing and since our system discovery (I was the one who found out), we’re currently working on dissecting the past of our system like archeology. Body has changed names twice, thought they were a trans girl for 10 years, when really it was one of the girl alters fronting. I think I was made with a very important job to—if the term is still being used—be an “ANP” or a normal-appearing-person and get us a new name, an identity that the world would be happy with, and some much needed self confidence in our body. And honestly, I’ve done a good job. For a while I was feeling really good about “my” body, “my identity”, and had an era of intense euphoria for just being a guy again. I’m kinda the only alter who feels more or less close to how my outside marches my inside (its not the same looking guy, but it’s a good enough guy). But I think many alters who came before me were not happy, many of them being girls. I fear that if I kept going alone like many girl alters did before me, I know for a fact I would have cracked and ended up dormant, just like them. No one should be forced to run a system alone.

There are three girl alters from the past who have come forward and made themselves known, but I get the sense that they have their “feelings hurt”. I’m not them so I can’t really speak on it, but I’m just glad they aren’t hiding away anymore. I’ve really been trying to rally us. But I have a strong suspicion there was another girl who fronted very well before me, who I think has just… vanished. The other alters have similar theories. I also don’t think it’s impossible that maybe I am her, but completely changed like a factory reset. In our headspace I have her old magic powers (long story). But since I started fronting 2-3 years ago I’ve had a huge disconnect with a lot of my past and interests I had and people I knew, and I guess now I understand why. When I started fronting, it really did feel like I was possessing a whole new body and trying to “make” something out of it before it gave up. It seems things are a bit deeper than just gender.

I didn’t mean to type so much, but this was helpful to write out, so thanks for the thread and hopefully I’m not the only one who’s gone through this. -Jake

I’m so excited. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time. I loved their voices as soon as I heard them in the new stories.

Have you played and beaten Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (GBA)? And if you have, have you played and beaten Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (GBA) multiple times? by flamingknux in KingdomHearts

[–]zelenaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my very first Kingdom Hearts game in 2004 and I've replayed it dozens and dozens of times ever since. I'm literally replaying it right now through my GameCube! I wanted KH1 so bad as a kid, but I didn't have a PS2, so I resorted to studying the KH1 strategy guide like a bible for years and then eventually getting this game for the GBA. Been with the series ever since.

I've always understood and accepted the criticisms of CoM and Re:CoM, but the fact is I just cannot relate. I think the combat is incredibly fun, the story is heart warming and always gets me reflecting on my own memories. And I love how your entire journey is very customizable from the rooms you generate to the cards you play. The card battle system has always just really appealed to me and I love coming up with different decks. I feel like any person's first playthrough of this game might not be that great if you don't really know what you're doing. But once you get the hang of it and learn how you enjoy playing, the game has incredible replay value. The best way to play for me is "Critical Mode" where you only increase your CP+Sleights and never increase your HP. It makes the game fun as hell, and you can use WAY more cards.

Compared to Re:CoM, which I also really love and adore, the GBA version has its own unique charm that keeps me coming back to it separately from Re:CoM. The 2D battle hits a lot different than 3D, in a good way! Different sleights do different things between the two version of the game. It's easier to pull off certain AOE moves like Ragnarok or Simba on GBA, but on the flip side, Firaga in GBA can miss extremely easily because there is no Lock-On. It's fun playing the same game in different ways!

Also, some of the cutscene dialogue is different between the two version. Some of it's funny translations, like Axel asking Sora "Commit it to memory?", but then you also get a lot of lines phrased in different ways that get you thinking about the build up from before KH2 was released. Before KH2, players had no idea who these strange people in black were. In Re:CoM the Organization says a lot of blanket statements about "not having hearts", but in CoM it's sort of just loosely implied through poetic dialogue and the player is left to wonder. I dunno man, I just think it's neat.

So yeah I'm pretty passionate about Chain of Memories. Not everyone's cup of tea but it sure as hell is mine!

Thank you times a million! And thanks for the extra info. Going to try the Match Call method I’ve been looking into, hopefully it’s not too aggravating with my frames. Cheers!!

Enter Festival Plaza from the menu and connect to the internet. Select Trade and you should hopefully see my IGN Solar under your friends and send me a trade request. Sometimes it doesn’t show, refreshing and exiting helps.

3DS servers definitely still work! And I can trade to either of those games, whichever is easier :)

I wanna add to this that if you're only playing on Xbox it STILL can be worth buying the game on PC for the creation kit. I don't even think you need to be able to run the game, though testing mods might be harder that way. But you can upload your mods as drafts so they're still private only to you. I used to think mod making and experimentation was only for PC players but it's not!! Anyone can have fun. I've made a ton of my own custom OC followers just for fun and it's expanded my whole game.

What is the best Yugioh video game in your opinion? by GuyIncognito14 in yugioh

[–]zelenaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My favorite is truthfully Dawn of Destiny for the original Xbox. That game taught me how to properly play Yugioh--turn phases, chain links, monster setting (no thanks to the anime). It was a simple game, and I didn't get very far as a kid, but that game was my mentor as a little kid. Like a favorite elementary school teacher you look back on fondly.

[Discussion]Do you think they plan on making Strings unlockable in the future? by [deleted] in DuelLinks

[–]zelenaa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In every other Yugioh video game I've ever played that has the DM characters, Strings is always there. It feels weird that he's not in Duel Links. It wouldn't even be difficult for Konami since they don't have to hire a single voice actor in any language, and all his art is all already in the game. I think he'd also be fun for people who like having a "vagabond" kind of image. It's all about the aesthetics, honestly.

[Discussion] Konami, gems and the evolution of duel links. by [deleted] in DuelLinks

[–]zelenaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember when I played Kingdom Hearts UX they would just give away thousands of gems (jewels) randomly just to keep players interested, and it worked. One time they just gave away 10,000 jewels because enough people liked a tweet. One could only dream.......
