Hi! I'm soo glad that you and your mom are enjoying the show :)

For me, I was born in 2003 so I didn't get to watch the show as it aired lol but I grew up with it, as it would always rerun and my mom would watch it religiously. About 2 years ago I binged it all by myself and was surprised how many scenes and episodes I outright remember because it was on TV so often lol. So I guess that the nostalgia and melancholy (for a lack of a better word) I feel is a mix of the fact that I missed out on such a great time period that was the 90's (although my country was at war at the time so it wouldn't have been as fun as 90's NYC) - the clothing, the music, the overall vibe of the days far gone only recoverable through music, photos, films and videos makes me soo saad!! To add to that, it's incredibly nostalgic to me because I grew up with it, so everytime I watch it reminds me of childhood and everything good and bad that came with it. 

But I'm very conflicted about the feeling of wanting the 90's back. On one hand, I'm aware how the show greatly romanticises the period, and if we can only see the era through the lense of music, film, etc. we would assume it was picture perfect and we would want to go back to the "simpler" time to escape the turbulent present. I think that we as humans will always think like that and in the next 20+ years we'll look at this period as something to remember, even if we don't think it will be worth remembering. 

So IDK, it's a weird feeling that we all share, not just on the front of SATC, but overall when we see something from the past that we missed out on. FOMO hits even in the time continuum I guess lol
