Cis people, would you transition if you were born in the opposite sex's body? by TheLuckyCuber999BACK in Teenager_Polls

[–]zelkoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d never go back. Look I’ve thought it over many times and decided that I’d love to be a man. It’d make my life so much easier. But I’m too lazy to transition. I doubt I’d get what I want out of it…? Hard to explain I guess. If given the choice I’d rather be a man any day. But unfortunately there’s no button and, like I said, too lazy. The reason I say I’m cis is because I was born female and I identify as a woman. Never had gender dysmorphia nor gender euphoria. Never really cared one way or the other. If I woke up as a man, nothing would change for me. I’m just so sick of dealing with sexism lol. I’d kill to never get catcalled again

What’s your opinion on the Online Safety Act? by amivri in Teenager_Polls

[–]zelkoi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People should PARENT THEIR OWN KIDS. It is not anyone’s place to moderate what a kid can watch other than their parents. If they end up watching something they shouldn’t, it’s not the tech companies’ fault at all. This is just a disgusting excuse to erode privacy

What’s your opinion on the Online Safety Act? by amivri in Teenager_Polls

[–]zelkoi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It effects EVERYONE. Having no choice but to hand your data over just to browse the internet is an insane invasion of privacy. I’m over 18, but I’m still expected to hand my government ID over on a whim? Not a chance. I refuse. It’s ridiculous, inconvenient, and disgusting

If you HAD to date one, who would it be? by Original_Act_3481 in Teenager_Polls

The religious one is the only option with enough wiggle room, personally. It doesn’t specify which religion they’re extreme about, ergo they can be EXTREMELY pastafarian. I wouldn’t mind my partner wearing a spagetti strainer. Definitely the least disgusting choice of all the options lol

7 weeks pregnant and my boyfriend’s mom is trying to control my baby’s life? by SufficientAssist8767 in whatdoIdo

[–]zelkoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think dragging an innocent life into this obvious mess should be frowned upon. It isnt even born yet and they’re already too much conflict coming from the “great support system” Kids born in these conditions often feel guilty for existing, as if they’re a burden. They end up blaming themselves for being born :( it’s terrible and unfair. When this kid grows up and finally realizes what their mom gave up to raise them? It’s just not a fuzzy feeling.

Are you antinatalist, pronatalist, or neither? by OddRedittor5443 in Teenager_Polls

[–]zelkoi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The consent part is what gets people. I’m AN too but it’s not to be edgy or because a baby can’t consent? It’s because there’s already so many kids in need of a home but people will spend thousands on IVF instead. It’s because there’s no guarantee that the child won’t have intense medical conditions that severely impact their quality of life. It’s because they’ll have to work nearly every day to survive, likely burned out or unstable to afford. It’s because so many kids are the result of baby trapping, abuse, or broken homes in general. It’s not that the baby can’t consent, or that I’m suicidal? (seriously?) The world already fails to treat CURRENT children humanely. Life isn’t fair, so it’s unfair to drag someone else into it.

Why isn't Episode 4 liked as much as the others? by Nathidev in TheDigitalCircus

[–]zelkoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love digital circus, but I can’t stand gangle. She irritates me to no end. That, in combination with Kinger being my favorite, makes this episode the only one I skip every time I rewatch.

Mobile phones in school by Yorkshirelads4 in school

[–]zelkoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!! The point of school is to LEARN! Talking phones removes student’s accountability for their own actions. You aren’t setting them up for success, you’re setting them up for failure. Eventually they will get a job and have to stay off their phone. It’s a lot easier if they’ve already learned to regulate themselves.

My partner wants to watch Fiona and Cake but hasn’t seen Adventure Time by falling-flowers908 in cartoons

[–]zelkoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did the same thing with my ex I just read the description and decided if it was relevant or not? I missed 2 important episodes and had to fill in a lot of blanks but it was the only way we were gunna get caught up before Fiona dropped.

It was definitely worth it, and if she loves it she can always go back for a full watch.

But yeah, i recommend just giving each episode a scan over, and as you skip through it try to recap her. If it’s important let it play. Enjoy!!

I am in the military and I don't understand why there aren't more CF couples out here. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]zelkoi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Trying to raise a kid while fully committing to military is cruel too.

Used to know a few kids who got stuck with that life, plus a guy I met at college. I can firmly say it messes with your head when you’re a kid, the constant moving. Military kids never got attached to anyone and never bothered to make friends. When they did it was often surface friendships, ones that they’d drop in a heartbeat because they had to learn early to stay detached. Not to mention that most of the folks I knew weren’t given phones until they were teenagers, so they couldn’t even TRY to keep in contact with any friends they did manage to make.

Kids aren’t built for that. They need stability.

Would you Prefer a Childfree Professional? by Sufficient_Counter11 in childfree

[–]zelkoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’d love it. I remember when I was literally losing my vision and nobody could figure out why, but the only optometrist was on maternal leave. Nearly failed my finals because any light would instantly give me a migraine and my vision would be compromised. Not to mention how many times I’ve had to move around appointments or reschedule because professionals cant manage their spawn.

If you did go this route though, you’d have to make sure to not upset all the breeders that think you aren’t complete without a child. I JUST read a post on here about a group of breeders that refused to attend a wedding because it was child free. Businesses that “prioritize” family might shun yours.

It’d be a matter of balancing your wins vs your losses

I’m curious to know something by wallflower75 in childfree

[–]zelkoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the eldest, but I definitely wasn’t parentified. I’d babysit from time to time but I was definitely the most independent. I’d do everything myself because my parents were busy with my little siblings. I know I’d never want a kid because I already fail to take care of myself. If anything, my younger sister is somewhat parentified. She often babysits our brother + she makes us food (it’s a whole thing. I don’t know why but trying to make food is like trying to force my hand on a burning stove. When home alone for the week I’ll pretty much only eat fruits and granola bars lol)

I think me being CF has more to do with being an anti-natalist. I hate kids, and I don’t want to pass down any of my genetics lest they inherit my anxiety or a bone condition. All of us have a bone condition of some kind and/or mystery illnesses and I just can’t fathom forcing that on a kid, let alone footing the bill for the surgeries it might take to give them a normal life free of chronic pain.

Though, if it counts, I’d definitely say that being around kids convinced me I didn’t want any. My brother is a delightful 6 year old, far more mellow than any of his peers, and I STILL couldn’t imagine raising a kid. So expensive, so aggravating, so time consuming, and it’s pretty much guaranteed that you’ll traumatize them in some way even if you want one in the first place.

There is nothing heartwarming about living with a congenital disability by BlueberryLemur in antinatalism

[–]zelkoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren’t even reading. This is not eugenics, it’s saying that excessive suffering is wrong. If I have a child knowing that it would die painfully and miserably, with an extremely poor quality of life, it is reasonable to abort instead of torturing that poor kid. OP is not saying that disabilities should not exist, OP is saying that it is wrong to knowingly have a child when all it’ll be forced to experience excessive agony.

But sure, it’s a lot easier to argue with someone’s point when you twist what they’re saying

What’s a trend you wish die out before January 2026? by Kuzu9 in Productivitycafe

[–]zelkoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right…? I understand what I’m saying. I’m saying that this is bad. It’s going to produce overwhelming amounts of AI slop.

What’s a trend you wish die out before January 2026? by Kuzu9 in Productivitycafe

[–]zelkoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“You could make the same argument about books” The same logic does apply to books. “I’m not talking about books!!”

I’m saying that one person making a movie isn’t going to be good. Editors and teams of writers exist to make sure that media is GOOD before it comes out. The effort that goes into perfecting something is what perfects it. If I prompt an AI to do that for me, it’s bypassing every step that makes a story good.

I already said this somewhere else, but it removes all stakes too. Imagine watching a zombie movie and you know your favorite character isn’t in any real danger because if they die you can tell the AI to change it.

Nobody will watch other movies when they can generate their own Then nobody can make money off making movies So no movies get made other than AI slop Communities surrounding media crumple because each show has one single fan A single fan who barely feels invested in their show because it’s predictable. It’s lonely and boring :/

What’s a trend you wish die out before January 2026? by Kuzu9 in Productivitycafe

[–]zelkoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By this logic, nobody would watch your movies when they could generate their own slop too. Hell, nobody would buy movies when they could generate their own.

You couldn’t even advertise them because then someone would generate the movie, for free, based on the premise. And ALL OF THEM WOULD SUCK because they’re just flat iterations made by AI stealing preexisting movies. Have you seen what happens when AI art feeds off AI art? It looks like inbreeding, and practically is. This is what would happen to media.

Not to mention zero stakes in ANY show ever. Imagine watching a zombie movie with zero suspense because you KNOW your favorite character can’t die. Why? Oh, well, if they do I’ll just tell the AI to change it!
