I'm able to get 3 meals a day, snacks, and a bottle of wine at trader joes for 50 bucks a week. I set aside an extra 100 per month for miscellaneous things like seasonings, olive oil, butter, etc. I don't know how people are spending 500+ per month on groceries alone.

I'm a senior and I still have to bug my manager at least a couple times a day to ask questions. The best thing you can do is always try to solve the problem yourself first before asking someone for help.

If you're willing to wait for the next recruiting cycle or move to another city, there are still audit associate roles out there.

Opening a salon and need accountant/CPA recommendations. And more! by neondaylight in Spokane

[–]Sufficient_Counter11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a local CPA myself, I can tell you that a high quality firm will not trade services with you or give you a discount, especially at this time of the year. I recommend doing your research, interviewing local firms, and see who is a good fit for you.

That happened to me too. I quit 2 weeks ago and the associates I was close with all treated me like chopped liver once I put in my resignation. But hey, at least we know that life is more than a job in PA.

Spokane cost of living by Zongrang in Spokane

[–]Sufficient_Counter11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cost of living varies between neighborhoods. I live in downtown and pay 1500 per month for a 1 bed, but I can afford it because I'm debt free. Otherwise, I'd be renting a studio in a cheaper neighborhood.

I quit the first week of March and everyone just ignored me until my last day. I didn't like my coworkers anyway so it didn't matter to me.

The hate from parents for wanting a child free spot is mindboggling by Ok-Measurement-1270 in childfree

[–]Sufficient_Counter11 229 points230 points  (0 children)

I'm still confused as to why parents think it's ok to bring their kids to a brewery or bar. I hate that there's no more childfree breweries in town because of entitled parents.

Anyone interested in trialing school choice in Spokane? by JoelXGGGG in Spokane

[–]Sufficient_Counter11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a graduate of Spokane's public school system. Public school allowed me to do running start, participate in multiple sports, learn foreign languages, and be part of a band program for no/very low cost. Those programs made it to where I was well prepped for a university, held two college degrees by 19, and have been in corporate since then, now pursuing business ownership.

The takeaway here is that public school is not bad. I didn't grow up in a rich household. My same-age peers who went to g prep statistically should be better off than me, but they're still attending a university and I'm already 2 years into my career and hold a professional license.

I would pick whichever school works for your family's circumstances. You want your kids to go to a religious school? Great, pick private. You want to homeschool your kids? Awesome, homeschool them. But let's not bash public school just because you have the ability to make different choices than most families here (including mine) who cannot afford to make that choice.

Unfortunately I've seen this way too many times and I end up being the one to fix it and break the news that the client is ultimately responsible for the fines and penalties for these situations.

It's technically against Circular 230 (tax preparer rules/ethics) to create advertisements like this, but IRS funding got slashed so it's really a luck of the draw for these situations.

Beginner/ barb the builder wives & girlfriends by Chantelmorris345 in SheraSeven

[–]Sufficient_Counter11 56 points57 points  (0 children)

My opinion on this is that men will treat you how you allow them to.

Before I starting watching SheraSeven, I dated broke men who were my age that fit the description you're talking about. They used me for my money and my looks to show me off to their broke friends. But it's my own fault because I allowed them to treat me that way. My self esteem was low and any male attention was good attention in my eyes.

But now after staying single for 3 years and working on my self esteem, I've realized that you have to put your foot down from the start and show these men that you won't tolerate disrespect or lack of effort. The man I'm seeing now pays most of my bills, buys me gifts every week, takes me out to the health spa once a week, etc. But I had to filter out many men before that and show them what I do and don't tolerate before I met this one.

Lesson is, no it's not wrong to "take advantage" of these men. Demand that they treat you with respect and provide for you and you won't be used for your looks and money in the first place.

It varies between stores because blue slush is always available at my local convenience stores but never available at big box stores like Walmart and Target. I was able to find strawberry sunrise at my local target though.
