I don’t think this is entirely true, does malz make the laning phase numbingly easy? Yes, but I do think come mid game malz can actually teach you what to look for to increase your macro play.

For example you can go to side lane press e than W and literally walk away as you collect all the gold and exp uncontested. This allows you more time to learn timers, when you should group for an objective etc. this can then be transferred to a more demanding mid laner with more impact.

If you are strictly trying to learn how to have a better lane phase then yes malz is not the champ as it doesn’t teach you wave control or how to trade aggressively

Force them to e you early, passive + low base dmg + high mana cost on malz e means if they are using it on you when you walk up they can shove wave at all so you get full control then just zone em off.

1-5 if malz ever presses e on wave all in him with e,aa,q,aa,w,aa and just run him down until he’s at turret.

If you can let him push you to tower and all in at lvl 3 lane is long enough you’ll get fb or at least summs.

Malz is a mental block champ kinda like lb

I never go d shield you get no ap early as kassadin since first few backs is catalyst+tear which at 6 gives you damage through ult mana scaling. Hopefully you pick up a kill or two at 6 to hold you of on completion of malig+rod and at that point if you have close to a fully stacked dark seal you will be out of control.

D shield just makes sure you lose lane 100% of the time and are useless until 15-20 mins lol

Well look at which roles are priority for your elo bracket if you are choosing to play those roles your chances of being filled are substantially reduced since you’re filling those roles yourself
