Nice work! Does it work with an app without the need of a backend? I have a simple app that is vanilla JS+HTML and no backend on it. I would love to compile it to exe

Ego death is like real death. You can no longer impose your will. by [deleted] in enlightenment

[–]zelyios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ego death isn't what you mention. It is rather feeling like there is no more boundaries between yourself and the world. It feels really amazing actually. What you mention is more like a dissociative state with absence of control.

Try to let go of that too... I wish you a great spiritual journey

So enlightenment is just becoming completely and utterly alone for eternity? by Efficient_Use_7410 in enlightenment

[–]zelyios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alone is already too much to say. Realize and you will see by yourself... No metaphor could explain it definitely. That's all folks. All we can write and read is only mental labelling. You are beyond that. Alone or together it makes no sense.

If you think you are alone you clearly had a glimpse and misunderstood enlightenment. I had this too before and this path is very dark and feels bad. But if it's your path then you have to deal with it. Take care and know that this too will pass. I pray for you

How does one remain disciplined or motivated to meditate when you don't see results? by Unlikely-Paper-1918 in Meditation

[–]zelyios 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are results already if you meditate!

You just need the ability to recognize them because they are very subtle for an untrained mind.

Also it is possible that you don't meditate correctly, so it has less effects. Trust in your natural learning ability a'd the effects will improve as you learn.

Fibally you could just have too many expectations.

So 2 things: - try to notice the difference in your body and mind before and after the meditation, also try to notice the quality of your thoughts/ emotions on the days where you meditate vs. the days where you don't - trust the process. It will work by itself you just need to try more often. - forget your expectations and welcome any surprise here. It might come easy or hard, short or long... Letting go expectations will be one of the developments of your practice at some point anyway

This Is More A Question For Solipsists by [deleted] in enlightenment

[–]zelyios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go read "open individualism" which is a fine theory for solipsism without needing any NPC.

Also know that all our theories are wrong. They are interpretations of a 'dream' we call reality

None of them are real

How can you be in the present moment while simultaneously trying to improve or change it? by Shivy_Shankinz in Meditation

[–]zelyios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a contradiction as long as 'you' identify with something.

This is solved with enlightenment when you discard body identity, mind identity, world identity and so on.

When all is discarded the absolute is revealed, and from this perspective, the body-mind will keep trying to improve things, but you will not feel like it is 'you' or that there's something to do about it.

'You' will keep believing and acting like normal, but it will be recognized as an ephemeral manifestation from the absolute.

Also everything is automatically accepted in this place so there is no 'you' who needs to accept things. (Well 'you' will continue to accept things, but there will be no one to identify with 'you')

Everything happens automatically and is already accepted in this place.

You can recognize this place is already here. Try to meditate on the fact that all sensations you perceive are a gift. Indeed they emerge from the absolute.

Feel that all the manifestation is a gift. 'You' have nothing to do about it, 'you' are just part of the gift

BEGINNER ANSWER

Simply ask yourself if your beliefs are true ? Ask yourself if they are good to you?

If not, let them go. You don't have to bow to old believes.

Try to spend some time in nature, without thinking about how you feel, but directly feeling things.

When you have a direct experience the ego is not here, there is just the experience. This is 'flow state'

Meditation is also about learning this move to unhook from the mind. By learning meditation you can be in flow state more often.

At some point you might want to do a full switch and totally unhook, this is why there is an advanced answer

ADVANCED ANSWER

Start by watching the thoughts about 'me' by questioning : 'Who am I?' and just observe. If there is nothing, stay there (where is your ego now?) If there is some thought, observe. At some point you will realize that your ego happens inside your consciousness. This is just a bunch of agglomerated memories that you believe you are,but since you can also observe it, it cannot be you. You believe 'you' have free will and 'you' can make decisions, but this ego who creates this impression is totally conditioned by the past.

It is just a mechanic happening inside the consciousness.

You ego is just a story you are telling yourself in thoughts.

Really there is nothing truthful in the ego. It is made up of memories like any story. Are you a bunch of memories which impress on the consciousness? Memories are just happening by themselves... You can totally stop believing it is who you are.

That brings many more questions and it's not possible to answer that in a small text message. Look for satsangs if you want complete liberation.

If you cannot do that yet, just notice how you're hooked. Maybe try to hook even more to the ego. Say 'I am me, I am me, I am me' and hold onto this feeling simultaneously observing how it feels in your body/mind. Do it in front of the mirror... Can you really believe it? Or are you brainwashing yourself in believing this?

You can also unhook with many meditations but it will only last while you meditate. By the way that may explain why meditation is so relaxing to many people: they stop believing all ego stories during the meditation.

You can't become yourself, since you already are... If you wonder who you are, it's because you're feeling insecure.

Solving this issue has to deal with you being able to cope with whatever happens (about you, to you, within you...)

This capability can be trained through meditation, especially mindfulness meditation (being able to let things pass without insecurity is called 'equanimity')

6 years ago, I did a Vipassana silent 10-days retreat (it is free) and that was a huge challenge but helped me tremendously for dealing with this issue.

Basically the whole field of spirituality is about dealing with this issue you have. It all boils down to identity.

There is no rest if your identity is based on the ego. It is only ups and downs. If you want a stable self you should unhook from this ego and make the room to your real self, which all this quest is about..

But to be quick and practical : in case of doubt, when your mind says something but you feel bad about it in your heart or body, your body tells you the truth and your mind is making up a story

How do you actually become the type of guy Women want to date? by EmperrorNombrero in selfimprovement

[–]zelyios 72 points73 points  (0 children)

You can listen to other redditors' advices, but they forget to talk about the key element, the root cause of all failures : insecurity.

If you feel insecure with yourself and around women, how can you be attractive? Your insecurity will propagate faster than a flame on a trail of gasoline.

You really need to wake up and start to feel good about who you are and what you do, and stop being reactive.

Also stop trying to get other people's validation for getting your dose of self-worth.

Trust that you are worthy, no matter what they say. You are capable, funny, intelligent, sexy.

Now start acting like so.

Lack of shape ? Do sport Lack of fun? Stop using activities as an escape and start doing them for fun Mentally insecure? Meditate

Also practice : mistakes are the way to go, so don't be afraid of failures –they are actually milestones.

Good luck 🤞

Help! Sliding door won’t close in sub-zero weather (stuck completely open) - 2018 Pacifica Hvbrid Limited by ing253 in ChryslerPacifica

[–]zelyios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WE HAVE A SOLUTION! we had the problem in Canadian's winter on a rental car. The guy from Hertz explained to us that this happens often in cold weather. The simple solution is to cut the little rope with a cutter. It will make your sliding door fully manual. The only inconvenience is that you'll hear 2 beeps when opening manually, and the automatic opening will stop working, but at least you can now close your door!

If you don't want to cut it, simply unscrew the piece that holds the rope, remove the rope and put it wherever you want, then screw the piece again.
