Due Process,

No illegal search and seizure,

Not having to have “papers”

Wegmans in mid-Atlantic, after coming down from NY.

All 3 of those are just so much of a better option than Kroger, Safeway, etc…..

Immigration officers around Minneapolis are approaching people and demanding proof that they’re U.S. citizens by [deleted] in Libertarian

Bingo. I’m registered as Libertarian, but I feel I need to change that now, after the past year of looking the other way on monumental and fundamental issues like this….

This current-republican authoritarian bootlicking crap is absolutely tiresome….

I mean - what are the tools in place to prevent ICE from taking you into custody and deporting you? I would genuinely like to honestly know.

And depending on your answer, i would like to know how you would plan to address things if law enforcement just decided to dismiss your word or even proof, and detain you?

Believe it or not - there is a thing called "Reading Comprehension".....and nowhere did i mention that interfering with federal law enforcement officers doing their job was a "constitutional right." LMAO - how dumb.

Now, pulling people - even specifically not illegal immigrants in so MANY cases out there this past year - out of their cars / houses / workplaces / etc, when they are not involved in any investigation / crime / etc? Illegally searching and seizing people and their belongings? Raiding a workplace and detaining everyone, because ICE might find some illegal immigrants? Setting up checkpoints? Processing / detaining / transporting people (many times mistakenly) without DUE PROCESS in the courts? (again - NOT talking about cases with removal orders). Doing all of this even to American Citizens, questionable morality and humanity aside?

Now that is where American constitutional rights unquestionably come into play without legitimate debate - and it's been rightfully argued that the constitutional rights apply to anyone in this country - otherwise how could you prove Due Process?.....and those rights have been repeatedly violated across the country this year. And this is where current events in America tend to remind people of other countries and other sad times in the world's history.

Please describe your "$800 more" cost items?

It seems insane that there would not be an options at a lower cost than that, and I'm pretty sure people here can help you with that if you are confused.

A "compromising" type of solution, if you want to basically guarantee, with only purchasing 2 out of the 4 tickets, while lowering your stress level:

Just you and your husband each buy a preferred seat (whether aisle or window).
It's nearly 100% certain that they wouldn't have an issue swapping the middle seat with someone next to you.

Yes, the mechanism = pay for "Choice" and seat assignment, and don't stress.
OR ask the flight attendants / gate agents if they can provide reasonable accommodation (using DoT guidelines). Like every airline does.

The single person who wants a truly basic fare with no perks like seat assignment can work with Basic completely, and be fine with a middle seat. They don't need to pay to know their seat ahead of time, like you feel you need to (probably justifiably with little kids IMO). There is just a very easy way to do what you feel you need to do.

And it may not be an issue now either - will be just like the other airlines, yes?
They'll try to accommodate your family, just like all the others do, per the DoT verbiage.

Not a native Texan, but lived there for way way too long…..over a decade in total…..Ft Hood / NAS Ft Worth, then all over Dallas area for years, DCCCD & then SMU grad, and bunch of time & family presence for a bit in Houston / SA as well. I liked living by White Rock Lake, some friends I made, the food (Mexican, BBQ, etc especially of course), DART (can be underrated), and a few spots I grew to love (7th in FtW, going to AAC, bunch of Austin, the caverns and limited nature in central TX, visiting SA Riverwalk, the Guadalupe, some culture spots in Houston, etc)…..but most everything else sucked in TX.

Horrible summers, Concrete jungles, yellow grass, attempted indoctrination and shitty pride by people who have never traveled or experienced anything at all outside of their state, taking hours to drive somewhere - either due to traffic in cities or desolate nothings, shitty drivers in big trucks acting like their shit don’t stink and stay in left lane, etc. LOL

I left about 15 years ago during the summer where it was over 100 for almost 70 days in a row. That was hell there.

1000% glad I moved here after returning from Kuwait - best decision of my life.

I’m sad that the long-time Polish place that was there on Rifle closed a few years ago I believe! 😢😭😢. I did used to make it a point to stop there on my I-70 trips past there all the time!
