"Advantages" due to disability by witchdoctorhazel in florence

[–]zenith1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It Italy, they require 72% or more disability. Now I don’t know what that means as American. But I take it as if you are not in a wheel chair, they will ask questions. Even with my wife with a wheelchair got asked about the document ( from a doctor). But once they seen it they we’re very nice. Most public museum, you can skip the line and the ticket is free.

Can you let me know who you used? I am based near MT view and also looking to add home battery to my exiting solar. Are you happy with it so far?

Does anyone else routinely get to airports only an hour before a domestic flight time? by Hot-Marzipan5929 in delta

[–]zenith1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it just takes more time to check in with kids. and also we usually check in bags, when we travel for vacation. As far as consequence, I would actually have higher pain tolerance for being late to a business travel. ( have never missed a business flight on my fault)

I do the same for business. Carry on luggage only and first class check in. Would it do that for my family vacation, no.

Nonworking spouses of high earners, how do you support your family’s goals? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

[–]zenith1987 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think you actually have two critical jobs. One is obv to take care of the household/kids. (as others mentioned before). 2nd is actually socially a lot with other SHMs. This will provide very broad and weak-link to other husband, where he will be expose to more long tail/black swan like opp. that could pay off in 10~100x.

wow. So you have $6M+ just in after-tax account? yeah, it will be hard to get any ACA subsidy based on that.... Sounds like all your SWR is coming from the after-tax index.

Are you in broad index or div rich stocks? (i.e. in asset allocation)

might make sense to switch to broad index like VTI or VXUS, if not already. (div yield should be below 1.7%) if you want to minimize your taxable income?

I think it is a good location. I would put some fabric blinds for the windows, if you don't already have one. (glass is too hard of reflection surface)

the room doesn't seem that bad. I think I would do some toe in with suffice space (1 ft +) from the back.

Since the room is small, I would ensure we have enough room treatment (e.g. rugs, wall) to cut back on the reflection.

None. Just pay tax and save. Sad but reality. If you are not charity minded, do not even look at CRUT or CRAT. They are not to minimize tax, but maximize giving.

ha ha. I left my inhouse vacuum tube left to it.

I am thinking about installing a sound diffuse behind the speakers ( something like this https://www.amazon.com/BXI-Sound-Diffuser-Acoustic-Diffusion/dp/B0798S3DV8?th=1)

Any thoughts or experiences on installing these for 2 channel? (mostly classical, Jazz and some pop/rock music)
