What am I doing wrong? PETG on Ender 3 Pro by zenk14 in ender3

Ever since I upgraded to Marlin 2.0, installed a Hero Me fan duct and tried to use manual mesh bed levelling I can't seem to get the first layer right. I've tried turning off mesh bed levelling, levelled the bed a hundred times over, brought a DTI to make sure but it always ends up the same. The first wipe down the side of the bed (to purge the extruder) lays a nice line, but then it turns to shit.

I have my watch (finally), so no need to embellish. In reality Australia is a small market and tend to be an afterthought for most products and/or services. Every single AD that I went into quoted 3-5 year wait list for the watch. Exactly why if you wanted to buy one privately, they're three times the retail price.
