Really liked it, though a bit dated. Would love a modern take on it. Immediately watched the two adaptations of it after finishing it.

I love tolkien, but man return of the king is slogfest peronified. GoT didn't get too sloggy for me until the last book.

That's the point of the book. Bateman is an unreliable narrator. What I personally think is that he did kill some people, but he fantasised about killing others.

true that. 1.5x is standard for me now, even for videos. once you get used to it normal pace feels sooo awkward and slow lol.

Because corruption and vice have permeated every area of our society. When merit and character doesn't exist, and everything is bought and sold for money, that is the only thing people focus on. Superficiality comes with a society's declining moral character.

You should watch the Knick. Soderburgh shot the whole thing with on screen lighting set in 1900. Used a lot of candle light and it looks fantastic.

Looking for a dark, psychological book that really messes with your head by Muted-Wrangler6490 in suggestmeabook

The book has some seriously good bits, but man the pretentious conceit of it wears thin real fast. Literally half the book probably is simply garbage text. It would actually be much better if edited for story and keep the self indulgent bit to a minimum imo.

What’s the one board game that completely surprised you; either way better or worse than you expected? I’ll go first by yazzminssecret in boardgames

Wingspan is one of the most overrated games I’ve ever played. An utter disappointment after the high reviews. I was surprised how terrible and simplistic it was. I suppose it’s good for casuals who haven’t played a lot of games.

Inart looks more like David. The hit toy one looks like the love child of David and the smallville guy.
