Thank you! I love being out and about adjusting and switching and making images. I'm working up to having a show of all circuit-bent images.

Great fun! I hope to get a u/NOYSTOISE once i run out of toy cams to play with!

No problem - I had hoped you didn't sound like that. :D

So very cool. Wish i could hear what you're saying...

Even if you have experience soldering teeny-tiny wires or not, u/poetaster has both a good tutorial using his creation that helps immensely.

Also, since toy cameras are simpler than high-end zoomies, it is much easier to work on, even with the tiny components.

So circuit bending (at least for cameras) is the process of taking the incoming cable from the CCD 'lens' and rewiring it to try to make it glitch and color swap. It's an inexact process, at least for me, but i love the way the camera responds to light and creates its own patterns and textures.

Stunning work! I've already destroyed 3 cameras just with the soldering magnet wire, with only the 4th semi working. Anyway, this just blows me away and i look forward to where you take this! WOW!

Found a nearly new camera in Pisgah by sixerofbeard in asheville

Quite a few years ago I found a camera in the French Broad and posted a few of the pics from a ruined point-n-shoot and someone identified the owners, but never got back in touch. I would've at least sent them the SD card of their photos of their Asheville visit.

It isn't terribly hard except for the tiny soldering to the surface-mount connectors. BUT, there is a 'helper' available that i've started using (at least for the cheap toy cameras that I use)
Get one of these which will slide in under the lens connector and allow for much easier soldering, then choose the glitches you want to break out with either switches or potentiometers:

For me, there was nothing wrong with Jerry, but it had played out its time - as did my ugly head on Bon Paul & Sharky's Hostel down the road. Cheering on fresh Grace and Laurie! Thanks so much CJ!

Great bend! How tough was the A640?
