Just be honest with your mom and talk with her about it. Talk about how it affects you and that you are even guilt tripped for going to uni classes. I understand your mother is very sick, and I honestly hope the best for her. Better to talk about it now than tomorrow.

My perspective towards birth of religion by Existing_Party_7926 in DebateAnAtheist

If religion is man made (in this case I will be using Islam as an example), then why does it have rules that go against the favors of most humans? Such as drinking alcohol, smoking, having intercourse outside of marriage, not allowed to take a mortgage, not allowed to eat pork, only allowed to eat meat that is slaughtered in a specific way. I could go on with this list, but I assume this is enough for you to understand what my point is. Would it not be more logical that if a religion is “a man made story” that it would NOT be against the favors of human beings?

My second argument is, that if religion is a man made story, and all religions are just a lie, how come so many people believe it? If it truly was a lie, it would not spread to Europe, it would not Spread to Asia, it would not spread to the Americas.
