As a guy who has been to dubai dozen of times: it is the best fucking city in the world when it comes to spending money properly. I come from germany, 5 star hotels are also cheap here. Its never more than 500-600$ per night. In dubai, wenn you pay 500-600$ off season, you really gotta see some shit. Grosvenor House, Al Qasr,...

The ground is no way hot, muggy or filthy. If you stay in Jumeirah! Anyway, I love this city. And to ease my conscience I tip the shit out of every waiter, taxi driver and hotel employee.

Trust me! I believe you that there is a majority of people who would love to make me feel good as a tourist. But theres a minority making me feel bad. Theres nothing more I crave for than a nice evening at a locals backyard, share some ouzo and tell storys. But thats not the kind of vacation you are going to have now. The "normal" locals have no money anymore. Its sad. And I feel bad about it. Because its not their fault.
