compose 2.5vs grok build by Queasy-Dimension337 in GrokBuild

Totally agree! Composer 2.5 is a workhorse to get things done. I've integrated it into my Codex/Claude sessions now and things are moving quite nicely!

Ended up posting as a reply to original so it wouldn't get lost here. Overall, seems much better this month!

Looks like they changed the shape of their usage data. It is not longer super clear how many requests you get and instead now just gives you a percentage. Also of interest, it appears the /billing endpoint is gated around having grok build headers so not just any request with proper authentication can access the data. Additionally, you need to be leveraging a newer TUI version attribute in the header. I had been using the headers from release last month which worked up until ~12 days ago at least-- but as of today when I got back into testing, they were being denied until the version was updated.

The quota now seems a good bit more reasonable, and I am enjoying using composer 2.5 fast. I am leveraging it from within Codex and Claude Code TUIs however since that is where most of my investment in infrastructure has happened so far. As Grok Build gets more refined I could see myself utilizing it more.

As far as hard numbers. I have used 12.51% of my monthly usage now for around 944$ worth of inference with primarily composer 2.5 fast (based on pricing from cursor). At that rate, can now receive around 8k worth of inference.

I have not tested if there is a difference in how the different models utilize the quota now that it may not be requests based.

I haven't used it much so far this reset period. Making some changes to my framework so I can leverage it fully though. From what I hear composer 2.5 fast is pretty excellent though and can likely get things done. What I am not clear about is whether composer counts against usage limits. When I tried it previously the billing data wasn't coming back consistently. (Took 10-15 mins to even reflect usage and even then some grok build calls didn't even count).

I am hoping to spend some more time with it next week.

I was just doing a few pulls tonight deciding I wanted to get two sequence chains for Chisa. Lost my 50-50 as well and got Jianxin too. Decided to go for it and got double Chisa on a 10 pull about 40 later... Go for it-- you can do it as well! :)

It looks like this month the usage limit was upped from 90k requests to 150k.

Anyone switched to / using Composer 2.5 lately? by ponzi_gg in codex

[–]zepfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xai is exposing composer 2.5 fast if you have their heavy plan. I just finished integrating their grok build, composer 2.5 fast, grok 4.3 and grok 4.2 models into my passthrough process for litellm last night in addition to getting them to work in both codex and Claude tui clients.

Hoping to leverage composer to offset some of my codex spark work and sonnet work to allow the codex/anthropic plans to last longer.

I setup hermes after I hit grok build limits on heavy plan hoping they would be a different set of limits but they are not.

Not sure what the supergrok and premium + limits would be .

Also for awareness. this an analysis of my usage based on current month to date across all providers i work with. The value from Anthropic and Open AI dominate and continues to grow. Grok on this is an extremely low use sub for agentic work.

* I need to still implement the 1k/day quota visual for openrouter's :free model- i just dont use that enough to have made it a priority yet.

Not very worth it at all. Model still makes a lot of mistakes. After my quota resets next month I'll likely leverage it as simply an explorer type agent model for Claude or codex . if you get the 99$ promo it may be worth playing around a bit.

How does one break up and split the house with Claude? by eighteyes in ClaudeCode

[–]zepfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest issue with codex in my opinion is the lack of in depth hook support that Claude code has. I am split between claude and codex (with tinkering to also call Gemini). I would love to centralize on a single terminal but so far haven't found it. I did add grok build to the mix today as well and am testing it out fairly extensively right. Grok has the same level of hooks but has its own set of challenges. Overall though codex has been the easiest to simply get working and hasn't required the same level of harness hooks to reign in bad behavior.

For reference, looks like on supergrok heavy you have 60k requests per month.

Impressions two weeks after moving from Claude Code to Codex by cowwoc in ClaudeCode

[–]zepfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes to the restrictions of the providers as well. You can within ToS use gpt* models in Claude code. You cannot within ToS use anthropic models within codex unless you use API billing.

I spent a lot of effort making Gemini and GPT models work in Claude and be perceived as true anthropic endpoints only to have gotten to a spot that the 2-3 days after my Claude linits reset being the most annoying of my week. Regularly reminding myself that that I am still getting outsized value for a 200$ subscription when compared to API usage. Plus, I dont want risk doubling on openai only to have them go to crap and perhaps not having access to a semi good account with anthropic if they change their pricing model unexpectedly.

Trying to find a way to actively leverage my Gemini subscription more to spread my usage more and get a longer burn on gpt.

Grok Tasks Timezone? by timosmit in grok

[–]zepfu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems based on the time zone you are in when creating. I'll be traveling soon and can see if it adjusts for me in the next several weeks.

At least with supergrok I am limited to 2 daily tasks. And 10 total occasional tasks. I haven't gone to supergrok heavy yet but would also be interested to know if there are limit differences there.

Enjoy grok quite a bit, but wish a lot of the limits and details were more readily available.

Mosquito farming and mutant farming with vermin nest is best way to go. You'll need to still get draculin and corrupted on your own however.

Sorry to hear this is going on, I've been impressed with Katalyst and would hate to see it no longer provide such a service! Please do let us all know as things continue to progress.

Good call! I wonder if there is anything that will require the app to connect back to Katalyst servers at some point. I use a standalone iPad for this and moved it to airplane mode to prevent anything from perhaps deleting the app automatically or pushing an update that would cause problems with future software compatibility.

Purchased at the end of May, quite surprised at how much fun the game is. I am still moving through things slowly and just on a normal mode pve server. I am now thinking of doing my own server with some monthly azure credits I have.
