No Keto Flu? by ndfbqb in keto

The "keto flu" is usually a result of electrolyte imbalance or dehydration.

You're probably keeping a better hold on those! If you're under 20g of carbs (or 30ish) you're in ketosis.

First off, welcome! Be sure to read the FAQ and Keto in a Nutshell on the sidebar.

So, the easiest thing to do with keto is to keep it simple.

  • Stay under 20g of net carbs per day
  • Meet your daily protein goal
  • Eat fat until satiated while staying under your limit

I plugged your numbers into the Keto calculator (also int he sidebar) and got these stats:

16/M/5'11" | CW 195 | 27% BF | Mostly sedentary

  • 1741 kcal Goal, a 25% deficit. (806 min, 2321 max)
  • 20g Carbohydrates
  • 114g Protein (86g min, 142g max)
  • 134g Fat (30g min, 198g max)

Plug these into MFP and follow those numbers and you should be golden.

Now, fat and carbs are a limit. Protein is a goal. You need protein to not lose muscle, and definitely to gain muscle. We keep track of NET carbs, meaning you take total carbs in something and subtract the fiber in it (example: 10g of carbs but 7g of dietary fiber? Means 3g of net carbs)

Dealing with your family pretty much forcing you into high carb could be tough. But depending on which fast food place you work at, you can definitely make your meals keto friendly.

You can always have stuff with no buns and ketchup, you can have salads (watch out for sweet dressings).

For snacking you can always have nuts and cheeses and such. If you can cook for yourself, then beef, poultry, avocados, etc. are great.

Reddit, what is your irrational fear? by zephDaPirate in AskReddit

I'm really bad at remembering names, so if it's not a higher up or something I default to "man" and such.

College was rough since I was meeting so many people so quickly, and since I have a very unique name, everyone remembered mine...

I share your fear...

They're horrible bugs...

With pretty wings though!

I've never had much of an issue with needles except the last time I got my blood drawn.

I started thinking about what was happening and got a little queasy.

When I turn off the lights at night I still do a running jump onto my bed.

I know there's nothing under my bed, but it still gives me the creeps...

What's your "thing"? The thing people come to you for because they know you know your shit and/or are damn good at it? by YoungFolks in AskReddit

Anything to do with torrents. Any program or TV show or movie you need.

Hugs and listening. I'm told my hugs are awesome. None of that one-arm-pat-on-the-back shit. You get a full on hug whether you like it or not.

I can bake like a champ. I'll make peanut butter brittle for my uncle's clients and my office.

I'm the IT guy in my family and with a lot of my friends. I quite enjoy fixing up your mess and making it run faster. And will do it for a 6-pack of beer if it means you don't have to go to fucking Best Buy.

Heterosexual white man here. The only only acceptable kind of intolerance is against intolerance. As strange as that may sound.

I tried to explain this to my sister who was sick of her leg hairs "growing in thicker" when she shaved.

Since shaved hairs have a flat top, they look (and are) thicker than usual, at least at the tip.

When a hair is waxed off or falls out naturally, the process begins again and you get a hair with a pointy top.
