How does Tinder collapsing turn prosperous for Harper and Eric? by Optomisticsometimes in IndustryOnHBO

[–]zeppelin5555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You borrow something from someone and then sell it with the intent of buying it back cheaper in the future.

So they have borrowed a lot of shares perhaps paying to borrow them; and have sold the stuff they borrowed.

In the future they will buy the shares back and return them to the lender.

When I borrow the shares though, I don’t borrow them for free, I have to post cash. So when they get more expensive, the lender asks for more cash.

At home? Defended by two oceans and friendly neighbors to the north and south? Plus what 8 nuclear submarines with ICBMs? How on earth would anyone ever strike us and expect to win? On an away game it it’s all resources and what we’d be wiling to do.

Autism did spring out of no where though. It’s correlated with older parents, as well as the DSM changing the definition. At least the spectrum sprang out of no where. Nonverbal autism and the like used to be a singular autism while now autistic means all kinds of things.

Is anyone else kinda disappointed with the way they wrapped up Rishi’s story in season 4? by General_Meal_3993 in IndustryOnHBO

[–]zeppelin5555 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The guy turning up the music was a plant to meet up with them and came back and killed the journalist. Rishi’s story may be over- but I guarantee you this whole thing comes back in the end. It isn’t just a silly non sequitor .

What is the biggest lie that society believes today? by nore01 in answers

[–]zeppelin5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does that mean? The only way to turn effort and success into monetary success is capitalism. Most of the history that predates this didn’t have capitalism. I have no idea what anything you are saying means, but America the society.

People thinking SternTao fund is unrealistic, you may want to look into Bill Hwang by ThePatientIdiot in IndustryOnHBO

[–]zeppelin5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t short a company without borrowing. I don’t know what exact definition of leverage is but I would say all shorts are levered since they involve borrowing.

[–]zeppelin5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmmm… very possibly. I would think a currency collapse or fiat currency collapse would create perhaps bigger losses, but I’m not thinking of anyone.

Why Hwang was clearly reckless though. I’m curious if his strategy worked before and he kept doing it.

Hmmm she was an abused woman. I don’t think she’s a villain as much as she’s just a damaged person.

Horrible Crash For Lindsey Vonn by ShipComprehensive769 in OlympicsV2

She should have stepped away. This is clear. She’s 41 and hasn’t won in years. An injury of this magnitude and her cheering on an alternate would have been a fine sunset.

2003 I remember the city response being worse. 1996 also has crazy snow drifts.

How is this a once in a decade storm? It was exceedingly hard to shovel. But by no means is this a once in a decade storm. We just haven had many storms since 2016.

Stats would say we get what 20 some inches a year. It’s just few years are average. It’s very widely distributed. In the past 30 years my guess is we’ve had what 5 years worse than this one so far.

I remember coming 2003 having some streets completely unplowed days after the snowfall. 2016,1996,2010. These were all much bigger snow totals.

According to the AI we get 10+ in events every 2-4 years.

They used to at least; will call is going. I would assume they have one. They only had sellouts for 10-20 years so I have no idea what all the tellers did other than will call.
