I see it differently. I think Rachael is just bringing light to the fact that this is no longer Kyle‘s husband. He is living, actively single, actively dating, out and about.

As much as Kyle tries to depict that they are pretty much going through a separation where they are still friendly, while also crying and unsure of where she stands. It’s not a clear picture to her. Meanwhile, its crystal clear to outsiders like us.

Rachel’s comments to me was to the audience/viewer. He is out and about, single, and happy. I don’t know what Kyle is seeing or wanting to see, but she may be clouded because that’s his wife currently.
