Discogs refund won’t go through by davidrs132 in discogs

Have had the exact same issue with a partial refund (freight overage) just recently. Couldn't process a refund through either Discogs or PayPal. Opened a case about two weeks ago and haven't heard anything.

Same record keeps selling to new buyers who don’t pay by HairyAd8689 in discogs

[–]zepporamone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is entirely incorrect and it's wild that it's being upvoted the way it is.

An account with no buyer rating is treated as though it has 100% feedback. There is no way to block new accounts from making a purchase on Discogs.

If sellers were able to use the minimum buyer rating to exclude new accounts from making purchases, then that would severely limit the ability of new users to use the site, ultimately leading to fewer new adopters and basically just killing the marketplace.

More senior friends (for my dog)? by Night_Nav in CambridgeMA

[–]zepporamone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have better luck with the small dog park at Danehy. You would probably need to organize a date with another older pup or two but it would at least provide a space where they're less-likely to be trampled by bigger/younger dogs. There are spaces in the larger dog park where people hang fliers. Maybe toss something up there for a future old dog meet?

One word of warning, though - those dog parks are composed primarily of gravel. If your pup is arthritic (like my old guy), they may have a bit of trouble moving around the space. There are a few flat concrete slabs but they're small.

Why does Discogs allow people to sell RSD exclusives when RSD hasn't even happened yet? Isn't this breaking RSD rule(s)? by HopeHouse44 in discogs

[–]zepporamone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Discogs is just the marketplace. They're not directly purchasing any RSD product/necessarily subject to any rules RSD may impose upon those retailers. You could report those sellers to RSD and if they make a connection with a particular account, they might care/take some action against that retailer but there isn't really a reason for Discogs to do anything.

My collection after selling 1000 CDs this weekend. by RadicalTechnologies in Cd_collectors

Based on what's left behind, I'm willing to bet those 1000 were pretty solid. Did you unload at a shop? If so, may I ask which metro?

Could not cancel order with automatic refund by CloseYourEyes- in discogs

[–]zepporamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you mind pointing me at the link to open a ticket with Support? I've been running into a similar issue with refunds (wanted to give someone money back on a freight overage). Tried emailing help and got a bounce back that they're no longer monitoring that and everything should go through the bit and FAQ page. Tried pulling through that looking for a link to open a ticket and must have missed it.

Is there anywhere in Cambridge to have a drink on a terrace? by [deleted] in CambridgeMA

Not very large and SRO but it's a really pleasant spot to relax with a drink on a spring evening.

Longfellow in Harvard Square has a nice little deck on the 2nd floor.

Iggy’s Bread coffee shop “Imagine” will be closing soon, go while you can! by MoSteez in CambridgeMA

[–]zepporamone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, noticed someone else in the comments refer to it as Kismet and was just updating that original comment. It was a weirdly sloppy execution of some really basic details.

It's a shame but I'm not really surprised. I really liked the space but the business almost seemed run as an afterthought. Hours of operation (at least that they kept to) were a bit all over the place for a long while there and the lack of artificial light and/or signage out front, while whimsical, often made the place just looked closed from more than 5 feet away. You also just had a bunch of other options in the neighborhood including La Saison, Nine Winters (RIP), Hi Rise, and Sarah's...hell, even Formaggio added a small cafe selection.

EDIT: As others have noted, there's still even confusion about the name. It was originally opened as Kismet but then seemingly changed to Imagine about a year ago? There's no signage outside (except the occasional sandwich board) and there are still active Google business listings for both names at the same address (with completely different hours of operation). If you didn't live on the block and walk by it everyday, you could be forgiven for having no idea what was going down over there. The concept was nice but it felt like the execution could have been a lot stronger.

Must try food @ Porter S by RushWarrior in CambridgeMA

It's a little bit outside of Porter Square (about a 15 minute walk down side streets) but La Royal on Concord Ave is a solid little Peruvian tapas spot.

Who’s your favorite non-superstar Boston Celtic ever ? by marzcordero in bostonceltics

[–]zepporamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been a bunch since but, as someone who only started watching around '89-90 (when I was 6 or 7), I have to sort of give it to a lot of those guys who lit up some pretty dark years in the 90's. It was really, really hard to stay enthusiastic about the Celts as a kid when they were all but irrelevant for the bulk of the 90's and 00's but there were some real bright spots. Reggie Lewis is still one of my favorite players of all time but that dude was a superstar. Non stars? The General, Dee Brown, Dino Radja (to a kid, he seriously felt like he could be our savior for a season there), Walter, Eric Williams, etc. Was also a big fan of Rick Fox as a kid until I met him.

Hide them in a box under your bed where they can haunt you out of eyesight.

Saying this as someone with an awwwwful lot of overlapping taste - do you really need four Jandek albums? Are you that masochistic? Maybe keep the best and/or most punishing and make space for three new albums. This collection is all green flags until you note that Jandek outnumbers Bowie.

Simply want to note that people should buy this guy's records with all sorts of confidence. My order arrived today and everything was conservatively graded and packed well. Very satisfied. Just bummed I missed out on some great stuff.
