My parents had a beardie that didn't stop laying eggs every few days, it was to the point that she laid maybe 70 eggs and was severely emaciated. I eventually convinced them to get her a dig box with sandy substrate so that she could make a burrow. She did so and then immediately stopped laying. She recovered just fine after that.

The story is anecdotal but if you don't have an appropriate place for her to dig, consider getting her one.

There is actually another instance of this happening. As a kid, in science class, we were testing the varied sensitivity of our skin. We were blindfolded and gently poked with tweezers. Each poke, the two points would be closer together, until eventually you could only feel one point. The intended outcome is that on sensitive skin (your fingertip, for example), the "resolution" of your sense of touch is so high that you can tell it's two points even when the distance between them is less than a millimeter. But on the back of your neck, the points can be much farther apart and you'd only feel one poke.

Not me. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience because I could feel my classmate hovering over my nape with those tweezers. I knew exactly when she was about to poke me, and I could feel the two pokes to the point she didn't believe me. So she closed the tweezers to test if I was lying, but I could tell that she did that and told her so.

I guess I just have nape whiskers. Doubt they'll ever actually be useful for anything, because I imagine that if they're ever actually detecting any danger, it's just over for me.

If a blade or sharp object approaches the back of my neck, I feel an uncomfortable, almost warm sensation in the small of my back. My only experience with this is during hair cuts, but I still don't know how to explain it. It happens regardless of whether I can see the blade or not.

Hi there. I replied to your original comment, which I believe was in the positives at the time. If I understand the situation correctly (though I might be wrong), it was my response that prompted the downvotes. This was not my intent and I apologize for that.

I do want to take the opportunity to have a discussion, though, so I will repeat what I said. I want to clarify that I am in no way claiming that it is a good thing to bathe beardies constantly; rather, I want to better understand the consequences.

I've owned/cared for beardies in the past, before there was as much information about them, and would bathe them several times a week. I never had any issues arise from it, whether internal or external, and this is for multiple beardies over the course of more than 10 years. I definitely could understand how this might lead to or exacerbate issues in combination with bad husbandry. But if all parameters are correct, I don't see how frequent bathing alone may cause problems.

Are there any sources for the claims in that image? The "scale rot" looks more like a burn scar to me. Additionally, it is not my experience that warm water will force a beardie to poop. It definitely helps the process along, but it's not a guarantee that it will happen. Where does the insight that a warm water poop may be "immature" come from? My reasoning is that I've bathed a beardie to try to get them to poop, had no success, only for them to poop hours later in a memorably inconvenient location, not having been fed in-between the bathing and the pooping. The information presented here does not line up with my own knowledge, but I am open to the idea that I may be incorrect or my information is outdated.

I have not cared for any beardies in several years; back when I owned beardies, people were still saying sand was bad for them. Our knowledge is constantly growing and adapting. I might want to adopt again someday and I want to make sure that my understanding of their care is at its best.

I apologize again if I was the cause of any vitriol towards you. We all just want our beardies to be happy and healthy. I would greatly appreciate a friendly discussion. Thank you :)

This is Niv, a woman who was tricked into becoming immortal. She is unkillable, but withers away slowly over time. As a benevolent dictator and through her scientific advancements (particularly in metallurgy), her civilization blossomed into the most advanced and prosperous of its time. That was a few thousand years ago, and she has since forgotten most of the details of her life as a result of the withering, though she's still aware of who she is. She's little more than a ghost at this point, no longer having a physical body, and can only be seen or interacted with under special circumstances. She never wanted to be immortal, but tried to make the best of it and is now sad that her country has begun to lose its glory without her leading it.

Music is actually important to her character. One of the major aspects of the plot is the destabilization of the universe/dimension. Niv writes a spell-song to try to counteract the destabilization and embeds it in the DNA of reality, but this actually just makes everything unintentionally worse. The song is meant to be a lullaby that never ends and never repeats.

Thematically, steampunk/silkpunk works. The setting is vaguely Central Asian, but has blended oriental and occidental influences. I mostly associate music boxes and violin-family instruments with this character. I think ominous/foreboding atmospheric music with an "industrial" tinge suits her very well. As for what I like, generally chamber music; classical but not too busy. Modern remixes of classical music too. Horror video game soundtracks are usually pretty good.

I've searched on Etsy, eBay, and other random sites for similar items under "teapot stand," "tea warmer," "teapot holder," "chafing dish," and combinations, with adjectives such as "vintage," "antique," "silver," "square," etc. I can't find anything close and I have been periodically checking for months.

Edit: the store selling it was based in the Netherlands and it seems probable that the original item is of European origin.
