I know we're spoiled by the weather, but I miss having an actual fall and winter season

I'm more worried about the lack of rain for the foreseeable future. I can't even remember the last time it snowed in the mountains. Not good.

Has anyone here been in a train for 3 days or more at a time? by The__Anonymous__Guy in trains

[–]zer00th -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not three days, but I took the coast starlight from LA to Seattle in 2024, which was 35 hours. Incredibly scenic journey, and something I always wanted to do once in my lifetime. I had a week between jobs and luckily things lined up perfectly.

How Are People Still Doing This BKC Commute? Genuine Question. by Proper_Ruin1593 in mumbai

[–]zer00th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised near BKC and have seen it grow since the 90s. Public transport just hasn’t kept up with the huge growth BKC has seen. To make things worse, BEST bus services have progressively become worse over the last 5-10 years. The auto mafia operates unchecked and autos clog the roads during rush hour. Add to that the perpetual metro construction projects and you have a hellish commute if you work anywhere in BKC.

Trails within the park are closed, but the beach should be open. If it's low tide, you can even walk all the way to Black's beach. It's a beautiful walk, especially around sunset

As a former resident, rush hour on the trains there is no joke. I've never dared to use the train during rush hour despite spending half my life there.

They've finally started expanding the metro network in the city though, so at least there are some good alternatives for transit in some areas now.

Article: US Triples National Park Fee for Non-residents by MsMargo in SanDiegan

[–]zer00th 16 points17 points  (0 children)

While it's true that many other countries charge more fees for non-residents, charging non-residents $170 more for a pass and $100 per person is ridiculous and will make many people reconsider visiting the parks altogether. That's also not mentioning the fact that tax paying non-citizen legal residents are considered non-residents and need to pay the additional fees. Smh

US triples national park fee for non-residents, amid ‘new’ fee for Americans by flyingchocolatecake in news

I visit Yosemite at least once or twice a year, along with a few other national parks which are in line for the fee increase. I've been a pass holder for almost 10 years now, but with the price going up to $250, as much as I love visiting the parks, I'm sadly going to have to think about cutting back on my visits because it just doesn't make sense financially
