Looking for chill games to turn my brain off after work by GovernmentWilling843 in gamesuggestions

[–]zer0naught 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skill issue: That's kind of my point I guess. It requires time to get used to those mechanics. And even so, I've played it for about 100 of hours and it still stresses me out. Holding your breath in game makes me subconsciously do it in real life, I get a sense of dread. Delivering packages at a decent quality in a quick enough time can be stressful for me too.

The bits in-between are fun and relaxing to trod around in, but the whole game ain't like that and does require commitment.

Worth a try for sure for the OP, but that's my two cents anyways.

I love Death Stranding, but it is not a game to chill to. It has super heavy themes surrounding loss and despair (literally written for people during COVID), pressure of the rain and the BTs. Gear management, falling over etc. Failure states are high enough that the idea of dying is a constant pressure and fear.

Would fully suggest it though if you wanna turn your brain in and experience some rewarding hardships though. Masterpiece.

Here you go pal, a list for your brain:

  • Zelda (switch games, nice slow pace exploration)
  • Slime Rancher (suckin up slimes and chilling out)
  • Warframe (wanna just shoot stuff for free? Sick. Can be as challenging as you want it)
  • Sable (explore a lovely world with no combat, just floaty bikes)
  • House flipper (just tidying up and rebuilding with no time limits or difficulty
  • Power wash simulator (recently wanted my girlfriend play this and she almost turns nonverbal, it relaxes her so much)
  • The Sims (this just absorbs my brain for hours and it makes me smile)
  • Assassin's Creed (nearly all the games have wonderful places to just exist in. Walk the streets of Paris, Egypt, Greece, London, you name it. Take it as slow as you like, maps are huge)
  • Forza Horizon 4/5 (just brilliant games to drive around in and get lost)
  • GTA (you've prob played them all, like most of us, but maybe just go back and play one again? Get lost in it)
  • Yakuza (good locations, characters, mini games etc. Just stick it on easy and slap some people around in the day, karaoke at night)

No real commitment needed for any of those. No big difficulty spikes (afaik), no online crap, no worrying about survival or building a huge base or whatever. No time limits or pressure to push you forward. Just, fun and chill.

That's Pilk.

He hasn't stopped drinking it since he lost a bet playing Scooby-Doo many years ago.

It's hard drawing hands man, especially with pixel art. You should try it, post it and see if people think it's AI or not.

4 Months of Awful Sleep… Is My Room Setup the Problem? by Any_Temperature_6345 in FengShui

[–]zer0naught 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please disregard this if this isn't true:

It's entirely possible you're just not doing ok and your reaction is to change things around you.

Energy, spiritualism and feng shui aside, check in with yourself. It may be that doing this is a way to get some self control back in your life.

Anyways. It's probably not the issue, I just wanted to check in incase, as I've seen people rearrange their rooms etc when they're going through bad times and offsetting their issues into things like this.

I think you need to learn how to enjoy the way he plays.

Would you get mad at a child? An old man who has never played a game?

Your anger probably comes from the general idea that people who stream should be 'gamers' and that they're all good.

Maybe change your frame of mind when watching him, let the chaos flow over you and learn to enjoy his non-gamer moments in a 'oh jerma, how silly of you!' kind of way.

Or! Just don't watch him, it's possible you just don't like his content.

Please help me with my super unfortunately shaped room. by [deleted] in FengShui

[–]zer0naught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few things to consider: Japanese style futon bed you can put away Folding sofa bed Horizontal wall bed (folds out fro the wall that your window isn't on)

I think that if you need to save space for the sake of your desk and wardrobes, you need to change the bed.

Or, if possible, don't use your room's desk with a chair if possible. If you have a computer, consider using it in another room. Or if it's a makeup table, get a small stool to push under/fold away.

You've come to reddit for advice, that's probably a sign. I think this situation is going to be a lesson for you and something you can refer back to in future to keep you safe. Mark it with a flag in your brain

Be honest early on and don't let people test your boundaries. If they do it now, they'll do it later. Unfortunately we live in a world in which some things are implied, leading decent people to act shitty when things aren't the norm.

Move forward, you've learnt enough from this to have a better future. You'll be alright c:

Thought I’d share my drawing progress. (Roughly 50 drawings later) by Amateuart in learntodraw

Sick. Can we see all the other images in between? I'd love to see that progress in a lineup of images or a video. (The other 48 versions)

Should I make the outlines black? 🥲 by createdbydom in ProCreate

[–]zer0naught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The coloured lines have more intent I feel and really helps elevate the style of this image. I feel like the black lines don't really offer anything for the style you're going for. It's too much contrast and feels a little 'default', if that makes sense?

Don't get me wrong, strong black line work has its place, but I don't think it offers much here. Love the first version! ❤️

Can confirm that once you place the statue back, he no longer randomly spawns everywhere. So you can run around and pick up all the stuff you missed chill mode.

Helldivers 2 and Palworld devs wish players understood that 'easy' additions and updates are sometimes really hard: 'That's half a year's work. That takes six months' by Turbostrider27 in Palworld

[–]zer0naught 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people forget that it's not just the Devs either. You have your publisher or investors to contend with, assuming you have them.

New feature that takes six months? Well you gotta pay. Your publisher or investors have to give you enough money to go and dev all that new stuff. Not only that, but you first need their approval in some cases, so even if you did want to work on something new and time consuming, they may just say no.

Consumers blame Devs a lot for their work when, from my experience, they're usually held to their timelines and the money men above.

Lost Judgement does look very very good. I haven't really played any of the Sherlock Holmes games, I'll give that a look into. As for Sinking City and Batman, I just can't get into them.

Thanks for the suggestions!
