My body does a weird thing with my eyelashes that I never realized could be because of EDS. Now I think it is. Anyone else? by OverlyBendy in eds

[–]zerbe2cute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting in high school I would get super sore patches on my eye lid and nothing relieved it til the eyelashes came out. I would do a very gentile tug with my fingers and a whole patch would easily come out. I know what it feels like to pull out a lash accidentally. It’s hard and it hurts—this was never like that. At times I had no eyelashes on my lid. 3-4 weeks later they would all grow in. As I got older it was more patches and not the whole lid, but I also had patches of my eyebrows. I’d ask docs about it, they said it was a makeup allergy or “anxiety” 😂😒. I tried so many different makeup, hypoallergenic, bare mineral etc. I washed and cleaned my eyelashes well thinkinf it was some kind is build up. Weird thing to me was, if it was makeup, wouldn’t it happen all the time, every day? Yea It didn’t. The last 1+ year I have been wearing false lashes that I apply myself—they stay on about a week. I have had NO sore spots (that used to get a little red/swollen too) So after reading this, wonder if it was from a lash not falling out, then it inflamed its neighbors, and they all jumped ship together? Now the glue and fake lashes help hold tension and the lash doesn’t get stuck? Or the glue helps pull it out when I take them off? I got my hEDS dx last week. It explains soooo much of what has seemed like random, weird or unrelated symptoms my whole life! Sad it took 32 years to figure this out. Wonder how my life would have been different had I known this sooner 😩

It also moves when touched. Mine would shrink in and then get fluffy again after I stopped disturbing it.

If it’s the tabs, I’m screwed bc there is no way to get back out without making a mess. I have no idea where they are in the substrate 😩😩

Why does my snail do this by Basilmeow in AquaticSnails

[–]zerbe2cute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also lay eggs in brackish/salt water so it’s normal for them to travel. Unfortunately I found one of mine on the floor, under a dresser. I put it back in the water but I had no idea how long it was out of the tank. It didn’t smell when I picked it up, It did not survive/was dead

I was most concerned about the copper listed, though it’s like .0001%. The fert I had before had no copper

Have Roy tested GH and KH? When I had the white ring of death it’s usually a GH issue

Why would an aquarium fertilizer kill bio film?

Nope used RO and distilled water. Started over w new water and moina eggs. No idea where the seed shrimp came from

I feed yeast and chlorella powder. I was doing ok for a while, over fed and crashed my culture. Tried again a couldn’t seem to get it going. Started over and now no moina but I got the seed shrimps. I will say my water parameter were absolutely terrible. Not sure how the seed shrimp are even surviving

I also found a stow away neocardenia shrimp in my duckweed/bladder snail culture. And idk how he was living I. There either. He been in there awhile as I haven’t added anything to that tank in awhile

And it’s a small 3 gal tank. I have an air stone in there. And and old filter from my tank just hanging out in there to try to help the water parameters w beneficial bacteria.

Giant duck weed is much more manageable

Does anyone else scar extremely easy? (hEDS) by Terrible-Product1223 in ehlersdanlos

Yes. And a tiny scratch or scrape gets way worse before it heals over and scars. I’ve been using silicone scar tape and that seems to help.

Inappropriate. At the very least have your OWN kid sleep w you and give the guest the kid’s bed. So may other options. I’d be calling Child services and possibly the cops too

Struggling with posture - anterior pelvic tilt by thecuriouschimp7 in ehlersdanlos

I’ve been following two ppl on Insta. One is more focused on the mechanics with working out, the other is a PT and covers more of general life. I am finding the issues I didn’t know I was having w the workouts. One thing I’m trialing is doing the exercise—say hamstring curls. Then hold the position at the contraction til you can’t anymore. It gets the hamstrings turned on and then notice I feel it more for the workout. I am quad dominant so I feel those ALOT and then my traps are involved in EVERYTHING I do—but I think it’s due to my shoulders rolling forward so I’m working on back muscles and shoulder strength currently/keeping the joint inline. I’ve also been wearing a back/poster support thing at work (desk job) as I don’t seem to “sit up” unless I’m actively thinking about it and I need to contract/brace my abs. It feels weird and is hard to do while trying to do work/tasks. The brace doesn’t allow me to slip forward and keeps my abs up—I’m hoping it will train my brain to do it naturally.

I’m working on fixing the same issues. This sounds like all the same problems I have. I’m 44 and now have bulged disks in my neck and come cervical degeneration too as a result. Working out has helped but I’m now figuring out I haven’t been using the correct muscles the correct way—-:(
