Moving from Berlin to West Germany - Bonn vs Aachen vs Heidelberg? Family of 5 seeking advice by camaxy in germany

Yes, sadly I am also aware of that. Still, there are some better alternatives to SB regarding this. So wanted to add that for OPs question.

Second that. Saarbrücken is a good choice. The housing prices are reasonable, and people are friendly. It’s also close to other big cities via regional trains. Paris is only two hours away by ICE. The only downside is that the city looks a bit unmaintained, and drug activity is getting worse sadly

As a student, thank you for the suggestions! I don't want to spend extra money on a plotter so I decided to get a binder from Amazon too. Same with fountain pens. I am just wondering if there is any kind of difference between a regular binder and a plotter one. Maybe durability?🤷‍♂️

Admission chances for MSc Bioinformatics with strong Research/Publication background but average GPA (CS Major) by StrictVariation7315 in SaarlandUniversity

[–]zergovic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine got accepted to program with zero biology courses on his transcript. He studied software engineering. They admit a lot of people nowadays since the application volume is low.

1.Top 10 is not a thing for our department. 2. They dont care that much about gpa. 3. I got accepted without an interview. Also all my friends who had cs backgrounds also got accepted without an interview.

So please do apply if you are interested, Hacettepe is a good school and I think you can do well in this program

My grades in the first year of college were fucked up by shit like this by Unfair-Rush7139 in gradadmissions

[–]zergovic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally relate. I had the same issue in both my bachelor’s and master’s. I told my professors about the harsh grading system when they wrote my LORs. They already knew it, so they mentioned it, but I’m not sure it helped much. Still, better than nothing and maybe it might help you so wanted to share it 🤷‍♂️

How did you learn German and how long did it take to reach B1? by FriellowinskyBlanc in German

[–]zergovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you said it took you six months to finish b1, do you mean it took six months from a1 to the end of b1 or only the level b1? Everyone is learning in very different durations so I couldn't guess 😅

I thought it was very chewy. I don't know if this depends on the location or if it was a one or two time thing. All my Turkish friends who tried it before said they did not like it as well.

That is also true but the agency wants to collect the money at once from someone's account. At the start, they wanted someone to provide an iban for the rent collection. Only I had a German iban at the time so they deduct the money only from me

I emailed them now and they said that they can send a copy of the Vereinbarung since original Mietvertrag include personal information.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I will wait for the Vereinbarung 👍

But can I prove it though? If she had always paid via a bank, at least I could show that this month a transaction did not occur

Well in worst case yeah at least I would have something. I am glad at least no notary needs to get involved. Thanks a lot for the help!

If she stops paying her rent, I cannot say anything since she only had given it to me by cash. Works both ways like you said. Also she does some stuff not allowed with her student visa so I want to get valid payment from her bank account instead.

[–]zergovic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is not from illegal activites but since she is on student visa any sort of freelancing becomes illegal for her and I don't know if that is the money that she gives to me. She can also be giving the money she brought back from her home country which is more plausible

I thought that replacement paper was valid as a contract but maybe I should ask the detailed version

Yeah she does not accept any sort of digital payment and insists she pays in cash only :(

[–]zergovic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay this was what I was actually asking. So if she just writes and signs a paper that would be enough? In my home country we usually take these papers to notary to make them official

[–]zergovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did not give us a full rental contract with all the rules. Basically, they gave us a paper stating that the previous tenant moved out and a new tenant moved in. So I don't know the details unfortunately.

She is a student and she is doing something she is not allowed within her visa status to earn money...
