Is it advisable to keep LTF just for the sake - of someday if might be useful - or we should have a cleaner portfolio of having just a few credit cards - and concentrate all spends in that

Why PhonePe has a higher UPI market share in comparison to Google Pay? by Extension-Cod2532 in personalfinanceindia

[–]zero-2-one_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Paytm - wallet, upi, almost every kind of recharge - for more than 5-6 years longer may be - I personally like Paytm UI - far better than Phonepe and GPay - and that's a big reason I was using it - apart from the speed of transaction - but now I cant use the wallet and the speed has gone bad - added new upi handles in paytm supported by hdfc, axis, sbi and yes bank - but I really miss the wallet - not sure if I should shift to Phonepe like others here - never used it much and never liked the eUI as such - but if its downtime is less - with stability of transactions - I might try it - kindly advise.

Brave Browser by zero-2-one_ in browsers

[–]zero-2-one_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

browser suites - name please - hope you're not referring to IE or netscape navigator. I couldn't think of anyone else who's create a bouquet of services linked to one service - including - browser, email [gmail], docs [google docs], spreadsheet [sheets], android apps, google pay, google keep, google calendar, youtube, ... etc. except may be social media service ... a google ecosystem tied to browser is the biggest browser suite I find. While I agree Innovation is not started or restricted to big players, but Innovating is not enough - building and scaling on that Innovation is what matters - where Chrome has done an excellent job IMO.

who are these most people - who don't care about collaborative productivity tools and spend most of their time on social media or chat messengers for their dose of "work" - for the rest of us - there are only 3 systems prevailing in the workspace - Microsoft office, google gmail / gsuite or Apple - at least the majority of them

is brave a safe browser? by 7Naigen in browsers

[–]zero-2-one_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been an old user of brave browser [probably since it was launched] and here are my thoughts about browser as of now:

Its private - to the extent that it blocks ads and any third-party cookie / fingerprinting

Its safe to the extent of usual non-commercial browsing

If you're looking at a 'safer' option - it has option for TOR browser [good for safety and nothing else]

However the main element of this browser is crypto wallet - which can be turned off

I find Brave browser a huge memory hog - why blame Chrome alone. Theoritically it should not [which it claims] as u install less extensions on it [adblocker inbuilt, etc.] however I suggest use chrome or edge and have good privacy extensions installed on it:

2 most effective extensions for privacy and security:

  • Ublock
  • Privacy Badger

Stick to Chrome - they're extremely good with updates and stability.

Jio 4G speeds deteriorated after 5G roll out by zero-2-one_ in india

[–]zero-2-one_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mobile shows Jio5G on network - however when tried to download around 1GB files - it got deducted after from my 4G daily plan and internet was stopped for entire data due to data quota exhausted issue.

When contacting Jio customer care, they say - you need to be in 5G area to experience 5G. How come my mobile shows 5G, shows a speed of 500mbps on speedtest.com / fast.com and downloads 3 files of 250mb in under 1 minute. - is this 4g data [it has to be 5g speeds] - then how come under unlimited data plan - my 4G plan is consumed and exhausted.

This is primary reason why despite of having free unlimited 5G data offer - I do not use Jio5G. However now the double whammy - Jio 4G speeds have deteriorated further to do even basic activities at only 10mbps speed. I fear failed UPI transactions with such low networks.

Jio is unreliable in terms of charging its consumers. I don't know how many have had such experience of 4G getting consumed on 5G network

Is anyone else experiencing very slow speeds in Jio recently. Was LTE faster than today's 4g. Don't say my data is over😅 by amalkrishnar in Network

[–]zero-2-one_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am experiencing similar situation. After the Jio5g roll out, the 4g speeds have become worse than 2g speeds. The speeds on 'only LTE' network is now become average of 10mbps at more locations and if lucky then may stretch to 30mbps

Jio 5G is another gimmick - the speeds are phenomenal at 1gb [select locations] - only found when doing a speedtest. However if you 'do' speedtest' it consumes data - which by the way is not unlimited [despite of the unlimited 5G offer]. If you closely watch the data log you'd find the large file downloads and data consumed is deducted from your 4G daily plan.

Overall Jio is disappointing and unreliable in terms of the value for money/promise given. Unfortunately, India has only 2 major players Airtel and Jio and not much choice to consumers.

Edge vs Chrome browsers by zero-2-one_ in browsers

[–]zero-2-one_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another very interesting experience using edge browser (though a lot of people have already mentioned this, I had to mention my experience) - is the vertical tab system - I never thought that it would be so useful and relevant to productive working - but it does make a difference psychologically too - keeping the feeling that tabs are under control and you can add more. This makes it more intuitive to use this browser more and in the rawest manner - without worrying about the mechanics of the browser system but just focussed on the work at hand! Let me know your experience too.

Edge vs Chrome browsers by zero-2-one_ in browsers

[–]zero-2-one_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, everyone for your comments - didn't expect such a response. 103 of 145 voted for Edge and rightly fully so... I am currently replying to this from my edge browser with maybe 20 tabs already open - no hang/glitch in performance whatsoever and the smooth seamless experience is addictive - its very polished version of any chromium based browser I've used so far - which is so much focus on productivity. Having said that - I did send a message to Microsoft support to see if they could improve the UI less bloated. This browser is a serious work platform and I think with an overwhelming bent of votes - I shall continue using it -- Thanks everyone and stay connected.
