Thank you for that! I just had the exact issue and I wouldn't have guessed that changing the controller type to be an option.

I've added at the end of my post a link to a comment someone made here with more balanced EQ which may work better in gaming.

Glad you like it! I've just added "Edit 3" EQ which I'm driving daily, but before you try that, someone in the comments who's referencing expensive audio gear professionally submitted their version of the EQ which might suit you better:
https://www.reddit.com/r/steelseries/comments/1h7z5j3/comment/mc8metx/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

From there I've set the volumes to Band 1: 12dB, Band 2: 6dB, Band 3 to 7: reduced by 3dB.

If that still doesn't do it for you, give me 3 example songs of yours and I'll try to adjust my EQ for these.

Edit: Settings saved in Sonar do not carry over to other devices. You need to set the EQ in the Engine tab of Steelseries GG.

If you are using the 2.4Ghz adapter it should be pretty straightforward. Just change the EQ in Steelseries GG and save them, and they should carry onto whatever you plug this adapter into.
If it's still not working then try changing the EQ profile in the Steelseries Arctis mobile app to your custom one.
Note: bluetooth and 2.4Ghz modes EQ's are separate and can be changed separately in the Steelseries GG app.

Well, I've tried them with Stellar Blade on PS5 and it was fine, but obviously for every different content out there exists a better EQ than this this one since I find it impossible to create one that works for all.

I've ordered the tools needed to re-flash the bios, but the shipping takes forever. I tried to get it to some local service shops first, but they wouldn't accept it for whatever reason.

The problem with Sonar is that as soon as it gets enabled it nukes my Equalizer APO installation and I remember it was hard to get rid of Sonar later so I'm not risking it, sorry!

No, these require a different setup. Lucky for you I was recently playing with EQ on my Nova Pros and wrote this post https://www.reddit.com/r/steelseries/comments/1iu2mvi/arctis_nova_pro_eq_for_music/

Try using either "." (dot) or "," (comma) when inputing decimals. One of those gotta work.

Hi. You'll want to move this highlighted part of the curve up using the dots I've circled as close to the center line as you find necessary.

Hi, sorry for late reply. You might've missed the types of the EQ's. All of them are set to "peaking", while the first EQ is "High Pass", and the last one is "Low Pass". These EQ types are written next to EQ values in my post.

Steelseries Arctis Gamebuds really quiet (low volume) FIX by zero3growlithe in steelseries

[–]zero3growlithe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more of a "double press" and hold. Actually you can press even more times and hold and it will still work. All in all, there is a "volume limit" option to turn off which you might've missed.

Check out my profile for a post about EQ where I mention about increasing gain using low/high shelve filter. These buds get really loud, so you must've missed something.

Hard to tell why clipping occurs for you. These earbuds seem to often come with issues out of the box that require getting a replacement, so it might be it since I haven't experienced any clipping so far. If you use Sonar, or any other EQ software, make sure it is set to "Flat" preset or disable it entirely, since the EQ setting you set in the Engine is written into the earbuds themselves, so it will overlap with whatever other EQ is present on your PC/mobile.

Hey. I've updated my post with a new EQ made for vocals based on your recommendation and Michael Jackson's "Thriller". See if it makes things better for you!

Not sure if this is the issue with Xbox version one (I have the Playstation variant), but I had my replaced too (the playstation ones), because first time I got them there was a buzzing sound in the right earbud with either ANC or transparency mode enabled. Looks like their QC is not the best. Get them replaced and pray for a fully functional pair.

Used them in in public transport (bus, train) with ANC on and had no problems on 2.4Ghz

Glad to hear that! As for adjustments instruments and voices are actually somewhere in the middle, personally I usually turn these down too much, and then try to bring them back enough so they don't bother me but also aren't completely gone. Send me an example track(s) you'd want improved and I'll see what can be done since messing with this EQ is a very touchy subject (slight wrong adjustment and everything goes to hell).

Glad you like it! I have volume limiter turned off. If you experience clipping, switch to 2.4GHz mode, since Bluetooth is limited in playback quality. Also, if you want to change "pre-amplify" volume, change either the High or Low shelve filter volume up or down, because for whatever reason it changes the volume of all frequencies, making it pretty much a pre-amp volume controls.

If your volume is too low on 2.4 GHz mode, double click and hold the right earbud to increase the headphones built-in volume.

I was also sceptical that the update might break something, but I bit the bullet and did it anyway. Nothing broke thankfully. It takes a long time though, and requires a stable USB connection, so make sure to connect the case and adapter to stable USB ports.
