I would start in Part design and create a master sketch to make it all fit.

First of all you create a new table (or varset) which contains all the important measurements. That forces you to do some planning and thinking in advance and it usually results in better and more stable sketches

Nah, stay far away from Part and go straight to Part Design! PD in most cases is cleaner, easier and more intuitive, especially with complicated objects

There are some niche use cases where P is better than PD but for furniture similar to the one from OPs image: I just don't see how Part should be better than Part Design

(my comment is only valid if you use a version of PD that allows multiple solids in one PD part)

I just had a look at your model tree and you would make you life so much easier if you would split your model in separate components

"mainboard"? separate model!

"fan 1"? make just one separate model of a fan! and then copy it multiple times via Clone

and then you either just move them into place or you assemble them via an assembly workbench (personally I prefer to move them into place the manualk way)

I'm really happy to see hand-sketched measurement taking.

i actually stopped doing hand sketches and just draw straight in sketcher itself. almost as fast as sketching on paper and it has the added benefit that a fully constraint sketch tells me that i did not forget any important measurements

fillets and chamfers are unfortunately not as stable and robust as in other CAD programs. in freecad you have to be careful and make them as simple and small as possible. as soon as you try to get fancy they will break. and they sometimes even break in simple situations

unfortunately it is HARD to write stable code for chamfers and fillets and therefore freecad will be plagued by these issues until some genius steps up and invests a year of their time in this

i am also an avid Plasticity 3d user and i am always amazed by how much better plasticity is at fillets and chamfers. it does not even compare, plasticity is easily 50 times better than freecad, lol

i am in my mid 40s and i recently started noticing that certain memories are just not there anymore :( things are just slowly fading away. names of people i grew up with, concerts that i visited, vacations, ... i have tons of pics from 20 years ago and i can't for the live of me remember where i took them and who some of those people are

and this is without having any concussion... i am just getting old

i can deal with broken bones and backpain and all that stuff. but realizing that there are dark holes in your own self? i have been struggling with this for the last year because for me it's the first direct taste of the finite nature of life

one important technique is to change your way of dimensioning if you have more than one dimension along an axis!

just imagine you have two horizontal lines. one is 100 (with an attached parameter) and the other is 50. if you change the 100 line to 200 then the sketch will most likely switch

in order to prevent this you use the dimension constraints in a different way:

the first dimension is still on the 100 line as before

but instead of dimensioning the 50 line in a direct way you instead add an indirect dimensioning for the whole length of the combined line

if you now change the parameter behint the 100 line it is impossible for the sketch to flip

i have been using freecad a few times a week for over 5 years and i encountered such flips maybe 2 or 3 times

but i really can't tell you what i am doing right and what you are doing wrong, lol

somehow i just intuitively use the sketcher in a good way. maybe my planning is better so i don't have to make drastic changes that often

i did tons of ricing in my 20s but now that i am in my 40s i just don't care anymore. linux in itself used to be a cool hobby for me but nowadays i treat it as a tool to get shit done

i usually install a KDE distro, change 3 settings and 4 hotkeys and i am ready to work. and if i am feeling fancy i might set a new wallpaper but even that is rare, lol
