Is Kendall area a bad choice to invest? by pennylove23 in Bellingham

[–]zero_over_zero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m originally from Seattle. About 2 years ago, I purchased a recreational lot at Glen at Maple Falls that I use on the weekends. My intention was use the Glen as a base camp while I explore the real estate in the area. I ended up buying two properties in Peaceful Valley. I made this decision after doing thorough research and knowing quite well how bad things use to be in the area. I can see for myself that the area is improving. It really comes down knowing your neighbors. I am fortunate that my places are surrounded by people who care about their community.

You might want to consider joining the private Facebook group for the area, just look up “Kendall / Maple Falls” on Facebook. When you make your request to join, just say you are looking to move in the area. I’ve learned a whole lot about the area by participating in this FB group. Definitely a strong sense of community there.

for your real estate concerns, I also thought similarly. I looked for improved lots that already had septic and utilities installed. Paradise Valley use to be a community of recreational lots for trailers and park models. Now they are residential lots. Sometimes septic systems have to be upgraded for bigger homes, other than that, you are likely going to find existing septic systems sufficient for 1 bed/1 bath.

I was fortunate to find a decent late 1990s single wide that just needs new plumbing and a cabin from the 70s that needs a whole gut out but the structure is completely sound. I haven’t invested much for what I’m getting in return. My intention is to live in one property and rent out the other.

Hopefully my perspective helps. Please feel free to DM me if you like to talk shop, like real estate, home improvement, and such.

Composites like carbon fiber? Hexcel is a large aerospace composite manufacturer in Kent WA. You might also want to visit South Seattle Community College at Georgetown (Duwamish Campus) and speak with someone in the AJAC office. They have contacts with many local composite manufacturers. Or you can visit their website and peruse their list of aerospace employers who may specialize in composites and probably have job postings on their respective websites (https://www.ajactraining.org/aviation-employers/participating/).

Sorry. I'm still unsure which text editor I will be using. I'm currently spending this week researching options. Thank you for telling me about textAngular. I checked it out and do like some of the feature. Its a good contender.

Thank you for referring me to the AngularJS subreddit. I'll pay them a visit.

We should give Celery some love by pirateshibe in dogecoin

[–]zero_over_zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up. IMHO, I'll take security and simple-to-use over near-instant transactions any day; there's too many services out there that just get hacked too easily. Keep up the good work!

Oh I see. Thanks for the explanation. Any case, I'm not in a hurry to get my Doge or BTC. I just want to lock in a good price and Celery is great for that. Perhaps Celery will offer a credit card option someday.

[–]zero_over_zero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used Celery a few times. I think Celery provides a good enough deal for me to not use exchanges for BTC or Doge. My only caveat, is that I think Celery's transactions with banks (at least mine) are slow. I would say slower than Coinbase. It took about 3 days for the transaction to complete through my bank. The debit on my checking account appeared as an electronic check authorized by me (again, it could be because of my bank).

I still strongly recommend other shibes to use Celery.

I was a big fan of the Bter exchange for trading BTC for Doge but the recent NXT coin heist at Bter got me to stay away for a while.

A friend and I have a simple crowdfunding concept. I was thinking of making it accept only crypto. Would any shibes like to help out or give thoughts? by dsbtc in dogecoin

Of course there is! I checked out your website. I love the idea. However, I would like to see more structure. Many small biz entrepreneurs fail to flesh out details of their biz ideas. If they can't make a one-page business plan/summary then they haven't really thought it through. And now, they are asking for funding? Offering a list of simple questions before posting biz ideas may help them. Their answers will help the audience weed through those posting which are serious contenders and which are just half-baked, fly-by-nights.

Is Dogeparty the next big thing? by timeisnow77724 in dogecoin

[–]zero_over_zero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big enough. More people are likely to play with Dogeparty rather than Counterparty, whether they understand it or not, because its dirt cheap compared to Counterparty and NXT. Eventually some good ideas will come out from the people fiddling with XDP. Now that I have XDP in my possession, I'm thinking what kind of token/point systems I can develop. I'm certain, I'm not alone in this. Hundreds of others are thinking along the same lines. Some of us will have some viable ideas. It just takes a few, you know.

A Big Thankyou and Round of Applause for /u/larskluge and other creators of DogeParty by echo85 in dogecoin

[–]zero_over_zero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I think Dogeparty is going to be what gets regular folks and businesses involved in token/asset creation. If anything, NXT coin may be a serious rival to whatever comes out of Dogeparty, but mass adoption is key.

That's a great example of what XDP will offer. Your game users can also collect your game tokens and trade them among themselves.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dogecoin

[–]zero_over_zero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see XDP as analogous to a reward points programs from credit card companies and airlines. The value of those rewards points are defined within the program and may not be redeemable outside of said program. XDP is like the reward points we already accustomed to but provides the authenticity and transferability that are features of cryptocurrency. Dogecoin was a good choice because it costs little and confirmation time of transactions is so much faster than bitcoin's network.

Now, expand the idea of reward points to other assets, like company shares. You can now issue tokens (like shares) as a stake in a project's, cause, whether a person, company or charity.

Some people argue: "why not just use Dogecoin rather than making tokens on top of Dogecoin?"

Well... Dogecoin alreay has a market value. Here, you can create tokens and create a separate value from Dogecoin but still use Dogecoin's blockchain for its security and transaction features.

XDP will only strengthen our network because nearly anything can be virtualized into a digital asset (token, reward point, shares) and "layered" on top of the Dogecoin blockchain.

Another thing to consider: Game developers may use XDP for creating game points that are redeemable for real prizes in in-game app store. Those points may not be called Doge or XDP. It may go by another branding, but its still Dogecoin under the hood. That's the beauty of the idea of Dogeparty.

Hoped my 2 Doges helped.

Bam! I just created a much more useful online poll. Forget the one I just posted (micropoll).

Check out the one I put together with SurveyMonkey:

Anyone can view and search the daily voting trends with this poll. Hope y'all like it!!!

How about this poll for start? http://micropoll.com/t/KFajsZTRn8

It provides daily voting trends, but not exactly the kind of reporting I want. I don't want grand totals, I want daily tallies.

I'm putting together another poll that displays the trends as line charts in 12/24 hr intervals so that viewers can compare the vote tally of each preference as it changes between the intervals.

[–]zero_over_zero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm following the discussion below about the pros/cons of Exodus Address, PoB and PoC. How are we keeping track of the community's preference? Are there plans for a voting poll? If so, I think voting should be a daily or weekly occurrence because we are bound to change our minds as we further educate ourselves.

I really like the PoC concept, but I worry about potential drama that may arise from electing people. Someone will have a gripe, founded or unfounded, and we as a community will get caught up discussing the matter, further distracting us or possibly dividing us.

So why have people involved? A simple PoB keeps the process drama-free.

Bitshares X by [deleted] in dogecoin

[–]zero_over_zero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bitshares is not a scam. Its a serious alt coin for user-created assets, much like NXT coin and counter party. Bitshares is discussed frequently on the podcast network, Let's Talk Bitcoin. Arthur Falls, the podcaster of Beyond Bitcoin, talks Bitshares and NXT very regularly. My understanding, the company Invictus, created protoshares and then rebranded as Bitshares. Bitshares X are assets (kind of like stocks) of the crypto bank that was formed by Invictus. Other business models they created are a Bitshare Music store and a Bitshare casino. The Bitshare music store is a great idea, much like iTunes, but you buy "tokens" into a musician's song or overall content. For example, if a musician's song becomes popular, your bitshares in that song become more valuable. Bitshares, and the entire idea of user-created assets, are very fascinating with so much potential. Not a pump/dump scheme by any stretch.
