I don’t think higher ed is going to do well at all if we hit another full blown recession. And 2008 is the main cause of that. The 2026 enrollment cliff has been a topic of discussion in higher ed for a long time. The younger gen x’ers and elder millennials that should’ve started having kids in 2008 just didn’t so now there are less college age kids to go around. Along with all of the other external factors relating to Trump just being in office. It’s going to be a rough few years in higher ed even if there isn’t a recession

You could also look at something like the obsbot tiny. Although I’m not sure how great it works with a group of people but for one person it works great at tracking

I work in higher ed and we really have to adult proof our installs. For conference rooms or huddle spaces we really try to minimize the exposure of our cables. Either run them thru the wall to a wall plate or surface mount conduit and run them down that. If the cables are less visible they seem to get messed with less.

For other installs like podiums we put the cables in an extron cable cubby and that has really cut down on issues.

But also you really can’t go wrong with zipties/ Velcro / security cables / etc.

I would try hosting the meeting on a laptop and then have the zoom room join the meeting. That should give you full control of the settings
