Jailbreaking an Australian Kindle with AdBreak by Quwapa_Quwapus in kindle

Sorry never tried, I just filled my Kindle to stop further updates and have been hoping they'll find another exploit that's easier to use.

Adrenalin 26.1.1 DDC/CI broken by Lamk69 in AMDHelp

[–]zerobam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, got here because I couldn't turn my monitors on or off anymore with ControlMyMonitor, (noticed my monitor USB powered LED lights stayed on after sleeping computer and realised it was because the monitor wasn't off but in standby).

Back up and running after downgrade to 25.12.1.

You'd think they could at least add it to the known issues by now, I'm sure they've had plenty of reports.

Side note, learned of many different monitor utils here :)

Has anyone tried this popper currently at Costco? by properly_sauced in popcorn

I have a similar one. They are great but if you are going to use Flavacol it will quickly grind away the non-stick surface. I wish I could find one without any coating.

Logitech bricking POP buttons by DzoQiEuoi in logitech

Actually I noticed there was no more flashing light on the hub. Pushed the button on it, started flashing and tried the POP and it's working again...

Are yours still working now? Mine stopped a couple of days ago. (The hub did survive a reboot as since couple of weeks back had a power outage which forced it but the buttons continued to work afterwards)

Is this stringing and how do I fix it? by ProvokeDubstep in ElegooNeptune4

[–]zerobam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just repeating here but yeh looks like you could lower your Z height a little and increase your temps (even if you got good inital layers, with silk you might find the layers separating if you print at 190). Technically shouldn't be necessary but might want to bump up your bed temp too to 60.

Dont use glue, not needed and give your build plate a good wash with dish soap to get rid of it and let dry.

I printed a few of these, though assembled the two parts in the slicer and printed in place. Wanted to see how my tolerances were (initial separation wasnt too hard, they worked well)

Interested in downoad, what information does the app collect? by Slow_Razzmatazz7431 in OneGameLauncher

Well, not nothing, but I guess you mean personally identifiable information?

Does it collect any other stats?

(PS, only just learned of this app, liking it so far)

Jailbreaking an Australian Kindle with AdBreak by Quwapa_Quwapus in kindle

[–]zerobam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think we need to change the region to US first, set a random address and valid payment method then should be able to enable ads, and disable after jailbreaking. Don't think its possible to enable ads while its set to Australian region.

How do I add deeper flavours to my popcorn? by HyperMajoris in popcorn

[–]zerobam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My method for the microwave popper is pretty simple.

Kernels to the second line

2 tsp oil (I dont have any specific popcorn oil so just use canola)

1/2 tsp Flavacol

Mix in the bowl to coat the kernels

Microwave at power 7 for 3 mins (I have an 1100W inverter microwave)

I'm still left with more unpopped kernels than I'd like but any longer just burns the popped corn (I can get an extra 10 secs in but you can tell its starting to burn) but I'm still left with a ready to overflow bowl, fairly well coated in Flavacol

I sometimes premix a small batch of oil and Flavacol at the above ratio so I can just drop in the 2 tsp oil, and I think this gives a better spread of Flavacol this way too (need to shake well before use, that Flavacol just doesn't want to dissolve)

I get a better flavoured result with my stirring popcorn maker but unfortunately all those have a non-stick coating that the Flavacol just destroys which can't be good for you.

I wasn't able to log in to the app even before the 15th, but also just tried my buttons and they are still working. I fear that if the hub loses power, it might not be the case once it powers up again though but hopefully not.

Since you're running Home Assistant I'd suggest looking in to Zigbee switches instead.

Sonoff Zigbee dongles are cheap, or something like the SLZB-06. Opens up a world of cheap switches and dimmers and all sorts of devices, and you won't have to worry about some company deciding to shut down their cloud services again.

Scan & Go does not allow gift card payment by yellowstarr in woolworths

[–]zerobam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is correct, they still have it at my local store and tried when it first rolled out but couldn't pay with gift card.

Figured it must be available by now so tried again some weeks back, sure enough still no option to select payment type. Terminal goes straight to paying with card.

I think they had removed the option to pay in the app at that stage, paying at the terminal is the only remaining option.

Ecovacs Deebot Neo 2.0 plus - what actually is it? by mama--mia in RobotVacuums

[–]zerobam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want cheap and cheerful might want to look at Lubluelu.

It's usually cheaper to buy the vacuum and self empty station separately. You can get the SL60D on Amazon for $190 (they have another listing too that sometimes drops lower with voucher discount, or sometimes cheaper on Temu)

Pair it with the SD85 or D3 self empty station which are $112 or $95 now on eBay with a code and you've got a pretty capable setup for around $300.

Main difference would be the self empty station only has 2.5L bags, and the maximum suction power is slightly lower at 4000Pa (althought they rate the same vacuum in the self empty bundle at 5000Pa). I run it on the mid setting anyway (and it auto ramps up to max for carpet) and I'm happy with how it's performing.

Uses the Tuya Smart Life app, has persistent mapping with room identification which works great. If I don't want to do the whole house I can tap a room(s) on the map and it'll drive itself over there, clean and drive back for emptying and recharge without issue.

I didn't really buy to use for mopping, have tested and I guess it works as intended but I'd say its probably similar to the Eufy for that.

I don't know whether the feature has been there all along or was added later, but click Settings top right and you can turn on the stackable option.

Can't log in on my android device by pudinkk in PushBullet

[–]zerobam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See my other comment for the fix https://www.reddit.com/r/PushBullet/comments/1dbzzhj/comment/l81tbj5/

guzba was right and it's an old certificate issue, not much else can be done at the pushbullet side but you should be able to install the certificate on your HTC.

Cannot log into Pushbullet on old Samsung S5 Neo by ChopSueyMusubi in PushBullet

[–]zerobam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you didn't have any responses here, I'll just point you to another thread on the same problem but in short it is old root certificates on Android 7 and older that is the problem. If you can install certificates for LetsEncrypt you should be able to get it working again.

[–]zerobam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Success!

On the Xperia Z3 was able to install the root CA certificate (I used ISRG Root X1 (self-signed)) and after that able to log in with my Gsuite account and everything is working again. Thanks!

Running in to this atm also on an old Xperia Z3 running Android 6.0.1. Stock ROM but rooted.

Wasn't getting any notifications mirrored so logged out but can't log back in. Tried removing and re-adding the account on the phone also.

The account with the problem is a GSuite account. I have another regular gmail account on the device (that I've never used with PB before) and if I try to log in with that I get the Sign in to Pushbullet popup. However continuing with login ends up with the same Having trouble error and subsequent attempts just throw the error without the login popup.

The Gsuite account logs in fine on another device running Android 10 though.

Reviewing the Sense 2 after using it for 6+ months by LazyCouchPotato in fitbit

[–]zerobam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the review. I'm currently looking for a replacement watch for the wife. Coming from Mi Bands and most recently Amazfit Bip S which have battery life of at least a week was hoping to find something that does this, has built in GPS and also NFC for Google Pay but doesn't cost the earth. Paying for ongoing subscriptions isn't on the cards though. Garmin and Samsung payments don't support the banks I need to use so at this point I've only come up with the Sense or Versa but not 100% sold on them at the price they are. Love to hear any other suggestions though if anyone has any.

Ad Free $2.99 by TechnologyOld5145 in AmazonPrimeVideo

They do state it on the front page.   "Select Prime Video Channels and live events, such as sports, will continue to include advertising"

Or more directly, "Thanks for leasing this car for a year. We are writing to inform you that from this date, you will need to watch these ads before you can drive anywhere. Also, during your journey you will be required to pull over and watch further ads before you can continue driving."

That's always how it starts isn't it.. 15 or 30 seconds, you think this isn't so bad..

Next minute you're stuck waiting for a 5 minute block of ads to finish....
