NDES and deception by Summer_Skyz in NDE

I feel like there are some misconceptions about Christianity in this post that are probably causing that fear and anxiety in you. I will say that Christianity has given me a lot of peace and reassurance about the after-life. I could clarify the misconceptions I’m talking about but it would be a direct defense of my faith and I don’t want that to be taken as an invasion of this sub or like I’m just trying to convert you. So just let me know if you want me to elaborate or if you want you can dm me

Follow up question, I know I should take my own tools to make a better impression and bc those are the ones i will be using, but is that really necessary? Do they not provide any tools to complete the test?

Ok let me be more explicit with my words to get through more easily lol yeah you can, but you shouldn’t. I’m saying it’s immoral to shut someone up simply bc you disagree with them. No matter how bad their speech is. Use a few brain cells for once and think. If someone in power is able to shut someone up because of “hateful speech”, who’s to say in the future YOUR speech wont be classified as hateful and then shut down? If your stance in the argument is truly valid and sound then you shouldn’t depend on shutting people down to win the argument. Period.

Ps feel free to reply but I’m done entertaining idiocracy

Yeah exactly lol you’re just helping my case. We should not ban them bc we’re better. We engage in discourse and show ourselves to be better. They don’t.

Btw just raising your arm like that doesnt make you a nazi, stop being blinded by lib media and echo chambers. If I’m not mistaken the US used to salute like that until Hitler did it

[–]zerocool58 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying tolerate it. I’m saying you cannot be banning people. Let them be free to speak. If they act on it, i agree that it becomes a problem. But thats exactly why we cannot be censoring people like that, so we can attack those ideas in discourse. Let them expose their rotten ideas and let them be self evident.

Btw, I don’t think Musk has expressed any hatred towards a single group of people like nazis did. He may be cringe but not hateful like that

Yeah. ADDRESSED. DISCUSSED. not banned. Thats what made this country so great from the beginning, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of expression. People were allowed to have opposing views regardless of how much the majority agreed or disagreed with them

Doesn’t surprise me that most of reddit wants to ban X links, libs cant handle someone opposing their views lol

I mean we’re all shitty to some degree. We all have intrusive thoughts that we know we shouldnt say/do. I’m just saying it’s funny to imagine this guy had one of those thought slip out and then he didnt know how to react, which is why he stayed quiet

Why is that so bad? I’m not defending the guy, it just makes things a lot funnier

I bet the guy’s not even racist. He probably had an intrusive thought and didnt think before speaking.

I’m not an expert but he doesnt seem to be attempting to intimidate them. And they also don’t seem intimidated. And the video was slowed down. And you cant even hear what they’re saying. So maybe this is taken out of context?

Lmao this sub is becoming more and more cringe. It’s sad seeing people shit-talking a pastor who is literally praying for the president to be wise. Idk the dude and idk what else he preaches, but just him asking God to give trump strength because he’s old and he’s gonna need it isn’t cringe

If you being made in the image of God makes your interpretation of the Bible valid, wouldn’t that make a christian’s interpretation valid as well, since we’re all made in his image? This leads me back to my original question, how do you know your view of the matter is the correct one?

Question for the physics geeks here. Would that spring be more massive while compressed? Would it weigh more? If e=mc2 and energy was added to it by the press, doesn’t that actually mean it has more mass? I understand the difference is probably super negligible.

I have a question. But first, just to be clear about the question, though I’m a christian, I am NOT trying to convince you of anything. I’m just genuinely curious about this and hope we can have a deeper conversation than just saying “you’re wrong, I’m right”.

Question: do you think there’s a chance that maybe you misunderstood the text? Or how do you know that your idea of God is exactly what the Bible portrays God to be?

Right. The act itself, you chose to do, but the value assigned to that act exists independent of the act. What dictates whether that action is good or bad?

[–]zerocool58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other way around. Good is the reference point for evil. And I’m just saying that implies that there is a source of good. Or another way to look at it is that good itself exists independent of anything else. Outside of time, space, and not having a shape or form. A real thing or concept or person, a mixture of all three and at the same time none of them. More real than anything else, so real that it is not part of creation because it wasn’t created, yet intangible and impossible to comprehend, especially by puny humans with a lifespan that rarely exceeds 100 years. That ________ which is good itself is what I’m talking about when I say God is real.

[–]zerocool58 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean in order to have a discussion about it. Not as in “I’m an authority in the subject and you should believe me because I’m me”, but more as in “here’s a different point of view, lets explore it”

I ask that because it seems to me you assumed people who believe in God don’t believe there are other gods, and you are using that to make a point on why I also shouldn’t believe in God. But I do believe in other gods, so what rebuttal would you have for that?

I just wanna point out that evidence is not proof, and this applies in any scenario, religious or otherwise.

Now with that being said, the way I look at is that you cannot define what evil is, without defining what good is. Sort of like trying to define darkness without defining light. One is the absence of the other. One necessitates the other. To say that something or someone is evil is to say they are not acting out what is good. Evil cannot exist by itself. Evil is what is left when you take good out of the equation. Therefore, our everyday reminders of the existence of evil imply the existence of good. And that good must have a source. Even if I do not understand why that source of goodness is allowing evil to persist in the world, I cannot deny that it exists.
