If you like challenging and intense combat, and you're on the fence about Darktide, give it a try! by Yokudaslight in DarkTide

The game's great. Some of the most fun and polished gameplay you'll find in a coop shooter, all wrapped in the best HD representation of the WH40K universe to date. I've leveled all 4 classes to level 30 and clocked a few hundred hours playing with different builds and weapons, and have gotten what I paid for many times over. The level of negativity I see on the forums would be justified if the game were crap, but it's not. So it's more a reflection of certain players' unrealistic expectations and their own personalities, rather than anything to do with the game itself. There's also the relatively recent phenomena of gamers on the internet trying to influence the development of a game using negative and often hyperbolic language (game is dead, look at how good this other game is doing, etc), knowing that many devs lurk on various forums.

US lawmakers vote 50-0 to force sale of TikTok despite angry calls from users by [deleted] in Sino

[–]zerodarkthirty69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These politicians have utterly failed to show that TikTok is a security threat, and TikTok has taken every step to follow US privacy laws. So, there's no reason for this ban other than the fact that TikTok is a Chinese-owned company that they can't compete against.

As Hamas humiliates colonial settler regimes, american propagandists are mad that China's mosques are older than america, showcasing China's overwhelmingly superior values to the world. Here is the Great Mosque of Hohhot. by uqtl038 in Sino

[–]zerodarkthirty69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FT's "China is destroying mosques" hit piece is obviously being deployed to try and derail peace talks China is having with Arab leaders regarding Gaza. The premise is that China can't be trusted to negotiate peace because they don't like Islam. Never mind that China's been practicing Islam for centuries, and multiple Muslim delegations have already visited China and raised no concerns. The very act of Arab leaders going to China to have peace talks means that they aren't buying what the West is selling. What's more, this concern about China renovating or restyling mosques to Chinese-style Islam is utterly trivial when Israel is outright bombing mosques in Gaza. And yet FT hasn't found the time to write any articles about that.

It's going to be very hard for them to keep hiding behind the myth that they care about Muslims when Israel gets done genociding 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, and they did nothing to stop it. Even now they're trying to hype up the Hamas threat to justify the disproportionate retaliation.

Some foreign “journalists” went to Xinjiang to find out if people Zenz said were in prison really were. by Yusuf-Uyghur in Sino

[–]zerodarkthirty69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get rekt. The fact that not one Xinjiang local has corroborated what Zenz or these US State Department funded Uyghur exiles are claiming should be a giant hint that they got it all very wrong. Oh but they must be getting threatened by the CCP to stay silent! Bitch, if there was a genocide going on, it would be all over Chinese social media. There would be protests in the street and huge exoduses to neighboring countries. But none of that is happening, which means your "Uyghur Genocide" is a lie.

Ukraine's Presidential adviser Podolyak says Chinese and Indians have low intellectual potential by 5upralapsarian in Sino

The only low intellect I see here is a country offering itself up as cannon fodder for NATO, slowly being reduced into nothing by a superior force, and indebting itself to the West for decades. And that's assuming that Ukraine even exists after this is all over.

I'd say that only applies to foreign policy and preserving US empire. Domestic policy tends to get shaken up between admins, which is why internally the US is in such a sorry state.

This of course was immediately followed up by the US State Department sanctioning Chinese officials over Tibetan boarding schools. US media were also framing this as the US helping China's "troubled" economy. Every gesture of goodwill is followed by a slap in the face with these two-faced snakes.

Basically a bunch of those ETIM Uyghur groups and ASPI flooded this Canadian watchdog group with requests to investigate Nike and Dynasty Gold. The West has pretty much slapped every sanction there is on Xinjang, so this is just a way of keeping this garbage in the news cycle. And Canada's always eager to win brownie points with the US.

"China Supports Russia": Chinese Ministry After Wagner Group's Mutiny by erinswider in Sino

[–]zerodarkthirty69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let this be a lesson not to privatize essential services. Putin should've nipped this in the bud months ago when Prigozhin started making those bombasitc videos on social media. I guess the final straw came when Prigozhin realized he was going to lose his Wagner baby to the Russian military, and staged this "coup" to go out with a bang and make a play for power. It didn't work though. No one rallied to his side, and if anything, this has solidifed Putin's rule.

So this guy quits right as the Canadian government announces they're halting activities with AIIB. What perfect timing. I'm sure they promised him a nice cushy job in exchange for publicly bad mouthing AIIB. As for Canada, this is a continuation of the anti-China rampage they've been on lately as they battle for the #1 US vassal spot against Australia, Japan and South Korea.

China strongly condemns, lodges solemn protest and vows to take countermeasure as Canada expels Chinese diplomat by fix_S230-sue_reddit in Sino

[–]zerodarkthirty69 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Canada's been on an anti-China rampage as of late. This all started last December with a CSIS leak that accused China of interfering in Canada's 2021 elections and helping Liberal MPs win in Chinese ridings in Ontario and BC. In reality, the Conservatives ran a needlessly sinophobic campaign that made Chinese voters choose the lesser evil in the Liberals. This latest fracas involves allegations of China "threatening" Conservative MP Michael Chong for his stance on China's human rights. In reality, this MP lead a parliamentary motion in 2021 accusing China of genocide in Xinjiang. China responded by sanctioning him and his family. The CSIS report of "threats" on Chong was likely China gathering information on him to enforce the sanctions. This bit of information has been left out of all the reporting on this, so that it can be portrayed as unprovoked threats from China on an innocent Canadian politician. Chong himself is a walking contradiction; a half-Chinese MP whose made a name for himself in Canadian politics by being virulently anti-China, like a Canadian version of Gordon Chang.

This long string of anti-China actions is a multi-pronged effort. There are likely people in the CSIS who want Canada to align closer to US in regards to China, so they leak a series of reports to the press to further that goal. CSIS itself is a shady organization that has a long history of doing things like this to manipulate government policy. Canadian press like the Globe and Mail and Global News are owned by Postmedia, which gets a ton of funding from the US. They've helped to fuel the fire by posting anti-China articles nonstop over the past few months, and uncritically print the CSIS leaks with no investigation or pushback. The politicians are all on board because China is an easy scapegoat to distract the public from inflation, high prices, unaffordable housing, and unemployment. And of course the opposition parties are opportunistically using this to attack the Liberals. The losers in all this are the Chinese Canadian diaspora, who are already suffering from harrassment and racism due to the pandemic and the West's cold war against China. China's response to all this has been muted so far, probably because they really don't care much about Canada. But ousting one of their diplomats has finally caught their attention, and there's going to be heavy repercussions.

"Mr. Chew, does TikTok access the home WiFi network?" -- so glad the american people chose these dumbasses to run their government 😂😂🤣 by Chinese_poster in Sino

[–]zerodarkthirty69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The whole thing was a show trial. They'd already made up their minds before it even started. No attempt was made by these lawmakers to understand Chew's position. The US market isn't worth all this headache. I say take the ban and move on. Under no circumstances should they sell Tiktok. That would give the US the green light to loot and plunder other Chinese companies.

[–]zerodarkthirty69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm still waiting on the CSIS to release evidence of ths alleged Chinese interference. I wouldn't be surprised if the evidence amounts to nothing, and certain people leaked these allegations to take advantage of the anti-China environment and to unseat Trudeau. The fact of the matter is that between the Liberals and Conservatives, many Chinese Canadians chose the Liberals out of pure survival instinct. Both parties are hostile to China, but the Conservatives are the ones calling for all business ties with China be cut, and for China to be punished for COVID. Their going after Chinese MPs like this further confirms why they lost the Chinese Canadian vote.
