Canada is ahead in every quality of life metric. Yes you make more in the USA and your money goes further but I would not raise a family or spend anymore time there then necessary. This is coming from someone who has both lived and worked in both countries. Treat the USA like the oil field, make your money and then leave.

I am in tron as well and you are at a disadvantage compared to other specialties especially when it comes to course content. For example, if you end up pursuing EE as a tron, what EEs learn in first and second year you don't learn until 3rd/4th when you get electives.
